    What does that mean for Iowa State considering they become bowl eligible.

    Yes, 6-6 ISU goes bowling because of our fans knack for traveling well. Heck, it even got us picked over Missouri for the Insight bowl.

    Personally, I think it depends on what bowl. We should NOT go to Boise again, or NYC around new years.

    This, even if it isn't a Big 12 affiliated Bowl ISU goes bowling at 6-6. There is potential for losing teams to go. A Big 12 team playing one of the toughest schedules in the nation with 6 wins is going somewhere.

    Agreed. Last year there were something like 71 eligible bowl teams and 68 slots. This year there are two new bowls and USC is ineligible. If ISU gets to 6-6, we will go to a bowl. It may not be a BigXII Conference affiliated bowl, but we will go to a bowl.

    I would like to point out that I took those numbers from memory, and they could be slightly off. The general point stands.

    I don't think strength of schedule won't matter at all for deciding whether or not we go to a bowl. Bowls really don't care how good your team is, just if you'll bring fans.

    For the bowls we'll likely be considered for if we go 6-6, I think they'll like how we travel.

    Yeah there is no need to worry about not getting to a bowl. Even if we don't get a B12 affiliated bowl game, there will be lots of other bowl games out there that would love to get a B12 team which travels well.

    And I'm not sure that either will end up bowl eligible.

    Texas has: @KSU, OSU, Florida Atlantic, and TAMU left. I'd only have them as favorites against Florida Atlantic, but I could see them winning 3 of 4 as well.

    Texas Tech has: Missouri, @Oklahoma, Weber State, and Houston left. I don't think they have a real chance against Missouri or Oklahoma, and Houston is no slouch. I'd say the chances of them missing a bowl are better than making a bowl.
