    Brackins to D-league?

I knew he was struggling but I didn't know he was doing that poorly...

Craig Brackins Stats, News, Photos - Philadelphia 76ers - ESPN

Spin: Coach Doug Collins said the team is considering this season as a red-shirt year for the rookie. He'll likely spend the year anchored to the end of the Sixers' bench, and they could send him to the D-League for a large portion of the season as well.

Good thing for Craig. Sit the bench or play a bit in the d league? Happens to a lot of rookies

Not indicative of him playing poorly, just not enough playing time to go around.

Doesn't look like the 76ers have an affiliate, so he would probably have to go to the D-League draft.

    Re: Brackins to D-league?

The Sixers D-League team is the Springfield (MA) Armor. So that is where Craig would play. They do not visit Iowa this year. Guys signed to deals on NBA rosters can move up and down as much as possible, so there is a very good chance CB will see significant time there.

Also worth noting, Marquis Gilstrap has apparently left Turkey and has put his name in the D-League draft that will be held Monday night.

And Curtis Stinson is going to once again be on the Iowa Energy roster. Jason Bohannon and former troubled Mizzou Tiger Stefhon Hannah are also in the Energy training camp.

So....the 76ers traded specifically for him, are paying him 1.3 million/year, and he can't beat out Jason Kapono for minutes??? The 76ers are one of the worst teams in the league---I'm shocked that Brackins can't cut it

Yes and they are paying Elton Brand a boat load and he is an average NBA player.

Very true, NBA schedule is much more of a physical grind than college ball. 82 games, plus pre season, plus possibly 4-28 playoff games is a LOT of basketball.

Blows my mind a team a few years ago was dumb enough to waste a #1 pick on a guy who couldn't stay healthy as a 17 and 18 year old playing a 30 game schedule in high school and college... but sure he can handle a 100 game schedule against gigantic grown men. It's not like the best player since LeBron was available at #2 either ;-)

    Re: Brackins to D-league?

Spencer Hawes is the Sixers starting center and he is playing horrible. Why would Sixers let a big guy go with Hawes poor performance?

    • Sun, Oct 31
C Spencer Hawes, a starter, has accumulated 10 points, eight fouls, eight rebounds and shot 7-for-19 in the first three games.
      (Yahoo! Sports)
    • Sat, Oct 30
C Spencer Hawes followed a scoreless Sixers debut (with three missed shots, three turnovers and three fouls in 14 minutes) by scoring six points and grabbing four rebounds in 22 minutes.

Hawes (back) started at center Wednesday against the Heat but played just 14 minutes and did not score. He finished with three rebounds and one assist.
Recommendation: Hawes played in just two preseason games and entered Wednesday's season opener still nursing a back injury, so it will likely take him some time to get back to 100 percent. Until he starts playing more minutes and producing more numbers, he's best left on the bench in most formats.

Just think, most "experts" thought the Bulls should have taken Hawes instead of Noah. Noah is going to average at least 12 and 12 in his sleep the next few seasons. I think he had 15 and 17 on Saturday and that's a pretty ho hum game for him the past year and a half.
