    I get so tired

listening to those clowns on the Big XII live wrap up show. It seems like they blather on and on about every other matchup in the conference, and they're obliged to give a token wrap up of our game. I realize we were playing Kansas so we're not going to get much coverage, but the moronic comment about our punt return...."something we haven't seen in Ames before."

When referring to Nebraska and their chances of winning the north, they in essence said no one else stands in their way, and they control their own destiny. At least acknowledge we beat them at their house last year, and we control our own destiny as well.

I think our schedule thus far has prepared us for next week's matchup. CPR will have the team prepared. They slept walked through the first quarter today and had their Texas hangover. I smell another upset next week, what kind of press will we get then???

It's earned, and as of yet, we've really done nothing to earn it.

I kind of agree, and kind of disagree.

On one hand, you have a hardnosed football team that no one really gave a chance, with the hardest schedule in the NCAA, who has simply found ways to win games, including a great home win over Texas Tech and road win over Texas en route to being one win away from bowl eligibility.

On the other hand, you have a team with below-average talent relative to the conference that hasn't shown any signs of life against any proven opponent. Blown out by Utah, Oklahoma, and Iowa... no quality wins all season... that will probably end a mediocre season 6-6, go to a mediocre bowl, and play a mediocre team.

Depends on how you look at it.

We're over .500 with the toughest schedule in the land. I'm not saying they should annoint us. But acknowledge that next week's matchup is crucial to the north vs. just handing the title to NU which is what they were conceding.

I can't stand Jackie Sherril (sp?) either, those guys are hacks. I shouldn't let em' get under my skin.

Flying under the radar is never a bad place to be. Just saying, no one really gave us a chance against Texas. Or against Nebraska last year.

Let the Huskers think they have it wrapped up.

Absolutely! I'm sure NU is wanting revenge. But they're likely thinking we pose no challenge to them. Martinez is a little banged up, Helu is going to hear about how great he is all week...sets up perfect for another post game celebration for CPR and the boys

The main guy on the show, can't remember his name, is a blow hard with really bad hair, it looks like he just stepped out of a windstorm.

    Re: I get so tired

The Huskers are way better than ISU, at least based on what the teams have done so far this year. Not saying that ISU is definately going to get blown out, or that they have no chance, but based on what ISU has done so far against the teams that are turning out to be of similar quality to NU, it doesn't look good. That is what the announcers have seen and that is what they expect.

    Re: I get so tired

All they is that the games where we played good teams, we got blown out. Our two most quality wins are against Texas Tech and Texas, two teams that could end up in the bottom of the Big XII South.

I love this team. I love this coaching staff. I've put complete faith into this team and what they can do. But if you take off your cardinal and gold glasses, we really haven't done anything to show that we will keep it within 20 points against Nebraska. If we beat Nebraska and Colorado, then you'll see that respect from the media when we play Mizzou.
