    Looking for Desktop Computer

    For around $250. I found this Dell Optiplex 740 2.2GHz 2G 500GB XP Desktop Computer (Refurbished) | Overstock.com

    But I think there are better computers with same price. Any suggestions? I looked at Circuity City and Bestbuy (overpriced).

    At that price point, I might go with this one instead:

    eMachine EL1333G Refurbished Desktop PC - AMD Athlon II X2 215 2.7GHz, 2GB, 320GB HDD, DVDRW, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit at TigerDirect.com

    Faster processor, Windows 7, although it has a smaller hard drive.

    If you are not a "super user" it would probably be OK, but you have to understand that XP is almost a 10 year-old operating system now. I'm sure you could find something with Windows 7 for not much more. You might sacrifice hard drive space to get it in your price range, but you can add an external drive later for next to nothing.

    This is a better choice than the original computer imo.
