Re: Ben Bruns: Anatomy of the upset

Ben forgot to mention that I walked up to him pre game on the sidelines and told him there was something wrong with this Texas team and that I thought we had a chance. Nice to meet you by the way Mr. Bruns.

Re: Ben Bruns: Anatomy of the upset

I almost feel like I should eat Bruns' article after I read it so it doesn't fall into the wrong hands, but I'm sure he hasn't revealed anything a D-coordinator can't find out by studying game film.

    Thanks, Brunsie!

Love reading about play calls and the philosophy/reasoning behind them. Great work Mr. Bruns!

This should quiet down all the people on here raggin on Ben Bruns for never giving them their in-depth analysis of whats going on behind the scenes.. Great article Ben, always enjoy your work.

Re: Ben Bruns: Anatomy of the upset

    Ben,

This is exactly the kind of insight I knew and was hoping you could bring to your articles. I agreed with some of your critics after the last article that they weren't telling me anything that I didn't already know and anything that wasn't already repeated ad nauseum on the board already. I didn't post anything about it because they were still well written even though they lacked in depth insight.

Your breakdown this week of what and how is the kind of stuff I love reading. It is the kind of thing your experience sees that I just don't from watching a game. Loved this write up. Thanks for breaking down the Xs and Os for those of us without the football IQ you have. I look forward to more of this kind of insight.

    Nice Work.

Re: Ben Bruns: Anatomy of the upset

    Wow. Offense 101 right there.

I was wondering all last week how long before Herman adapted the offense to leave guys other than the weakside DE unblocked. Nebraska has had success with Martinez and Helu by mixing up their blocking schemes from week to week and it was about time we did the same.

Funny observation that I made this weekend. Considering I am glued to this website as it is my job, I tend to notice trends pretty quickly.

When good things happen, certain posters disappear. It is the craziest thing. Just a coincidence though right?
