    Rhoads Interview on Yahoo! Sports

Nice interview with Rhoads on Yahoo that is worth a read available here Rivals.com College Football - Q-and-A: Iowa State coach Paul Rhoads

Lots of talk about the Texas game, obviously, but I thought this was also interesting

This just highlights how important it is for the Big XII to stay together and how much we need that extra TV money.

And how much we need fans to step up or we need to find our T Boone Pickens.

Interesting, he didn't mention anything about bowling in the endzone at JTS.
This is what I have been saying all along. Money is better spent towards the football facilities like meeting rooms, weight room, offices, player lounge etc, then to transform areas into better looking areas when alot of areas don't fill up in JTS.

    Bring on the haters.

Wait...what will the attendance of a football facility enhancement be? No chance it gets past the BoR

I agree with that. Bowl when we actually need it.

Go to the bottom of the article and click on the "Yahoo Buzz" icon. Do this with all Iowa State articles. It basically makes sure articles don't get buried. The more clicks on the "Yahoo Buzz" the better.

Guess what, - all that comes WITH bowling in the end zone, because once it's bowled in, the visitors' locker room moves to that side of the stadium, and viola - we suddenly have room in the Jacobsen Bldg to build all those things that CPR says he needs. But, since you apparently are unable to listen to any sort of reason whatsoever...

No need to get nasty. You're correct; building one facilitates the other.

Slow down their chief, you are making a lot of assumptions there. It is a lot cheaper to add on to the Jacobson building (or Bergstrom) than it is to bowl in the end zone. This could be done with the extra TV revenue without the need for a lead donor to put up 10 or 20 million to kick it off.

Second, I have to agree with the others that having kick-*** facilities will mean a lot more to recruiting and player development than bowling in the end zone. Putting in the bowl is important, yes, but not as important as giving our coaches and players everything they need to be the best they can.

Re: Rhoads Interview on Yahoo! Sports

i'm almost starting to think we would be better off right now to "bowl" in the NORTH endzone with "wings" added onto each side of the Jacobsen. kind of similar to Indiana's i believe, only without seating above. do this with the scoreboard and the north would be sweet. then worry about the south at a later date when we have more resources. these added wings would give us the extra meeting rooms/etc that we need, and add to the look of JTS.

Ooooh, this I didnt realize. Wasnt sure how that was going to get laid out. I guess if it builds to that, then yes, it would be a good idea.

I only have to listen to what JP and PR are saying in multiple interviews on the subject and it's pretty clear to me - by going from their comments - spending millions by bowling in the endzone is not a wise use of limited budget dollars and there are more pressing issues at hand with regards to the overall football facilities that need to be addresed first. It's just not me saying this - it is the ISU athletic department.
