    TV Schedule

I have been sitting here thinking, "I can't take it anymore...when are there going to be some actual Cyclone sporting events to talk about??" Even though I know when the date of the first game is, my mind still screams out this question.

So...I got to wondering just how many ISU football games I will actually be able to watch up here in Minnesota this year. The only game so far listed with TV coverage is the Iowa game on Versus. Anyone know how many others will be available out of state, or when the TV schedule is finalized??

    Re: TV Schedule

I think alot of times the networks have a 10 day window to decide what they want to broadcast, so they wait until the last minute to get the best possible matchup.

    Re: TV Schedule

Yeah, don't expect to see many TV announcements ahead of time unless either our team or our opponents' is having a headliner season. If we blow out Iowa and Nebraska by 50 points each, you might see something two or three weeks ahead, but otherwise the networks just sit back and wait.

I also remember a game with Kansas when Cy (wore a huge suit then) went out to center field, squatted, and "pooped" a couple of chickens that had been dyed blue then chased them around.

the standard is 12 days (two Mondays prior), but networks are given three six-day options (one Sunday prior) to use throughout the season.

I say you see the Iowa game and 1 big 12 game. I doubt any of the other games are televised.

Have a relative buy a dish in Iowa and then bring it to Minnesota. You'll get the Iowa feeds.

    Re: TV Schedule

By the grace of God Versus just got included in my cable package!!! Otherwise, I may not get to see any games out here in Oregon. Even when ISU has been on ABC I we always get stuck with a Pac 10 game out here on the west coast.

Yeah that actually does work. You should still be able to get the spot beams of the local dsm channels in minnesota. That will not work if you are outside a few hundred mile radius of Iowa. But the games won't be on local tv either. They rarely do a local non regional broadcast of games.

I think it's mostly based on your billing zip code.

Spot beams? what are you talking about??? Echostar is the only provider that is using spot beam technology. Location is determined by the smart card. All you have to do is take the smart card with you to Minnesota. Direct TV uses conus beam technology. The signal is decoded by the smart card according to your billing zip code. THis is the case with RV satellites.
