If we both were to win our next three they might I suppose, with three straight wins we'd likely be at "others recieving votes" and Mizzu would be a top three team.

However, if Iowa and Ohio State both win out the next few weeks I think that Gameday would be in IC before it would be in Ames.

    Other games that day:

    Oklahoma at Baylor
    Ohio State at Iowa
    Arkansas at Mississippi State
    Virginia Tech at Miami

In other words, it's highly doubtful this happens.

Re: If MU wins out & ISU wins a couple does GameDay come to Ames?

    Other big games that weekend-
Baylor-OU- could be a big game if baylor managed to beat Texas, TAMU, and Okie State
Ohio State- Iowa- could easily be a matchup of 1 conference loss big 10 teams.
Arkansas-Mississippi State - If somehow MSU beat alabama, that could be a 2 loss MSU team (losses to LSU, Auburn) vs a 2 loss arkansas team (losses to Alabama, Auburn)
Virginia Tech-Miami- Could be for the ACC-Coastal division title

Also.. Probably not. If mizzou wins out to that point i think they'd be guaranteed to go to the title game unless they lost to us and kansas (which would be hilarious), for that game to mean anything for the big 12 title game mizzou would have to lose to nebraska, and we would have had to beat KU, CU, and NU. In that case Mizzou would be out of the top 10, and we probably still wouldnt be ranked with our OU\Utah\Iowa blowouts

    Probably not in our lifetime.

Seriously?!? I understand everyone hoping and praying for the best for the team and all... But, even if we were to win the next 3 and Mizzou wins until then it wouldn't be a top choice for GameDay, Mizzou would be pretty much guaranteed the North as mentioned above and thus wouldn't be a worthwhile trip in regards to the almighty BCS...

Re: If MU wins out & ISU wins a couple does GameDay come to Ames?

Let's face it, there isn't much interest in ISU nationally, so they aren't just going to come here for any old game. If it were every going to happen, it would probably need to be a top ten matchup with a team that is a national name (OU, UT, Nebraska). And even then, we may need a little help with the rest of the schedule.

Now, seeing as none of those are in place for the Mizzou game, that should just about answer that question.

Re: If MU wins out & ISU wins a couple does GameDay come to Ames?

The best chance for Game Day in Ames in the next couple years would be this scenario:

Iowa wins out, and gets to a BCS bowl game. ISU wins out and Mizzou has another conference lost, sending ISU to the Big 12 title, as long as KSU drops another game.

I think in this scenario, depending on the national slate, Game Day would take a long hard look at Ames.
