It's going to be a crazy one...winds around the level of the jet stream were about 220mph this morning over oregon. 25 states currently have wind warnings, watches, or advisories including a 1,300 mile continuous stretch of I-90.

Not looking forward to flying tomorrow, to be honest I'm a little freaked out.

Just keep the wings parallel to the ground and they'll provide this thing I like to call lift.
Actually, the part I always worry about when I fly isn't the flying, its the landing.

    Or even worse, perpendicular...

Taking off shouldn't really be a problem as the airport should have a runway that is close enough to parallel to the winds to allow for a nice, quick, take-off... It may be bumpy though depending which way you are traveling and especially where you are landing if it is anywhere within a few hours of Des Moines...

Could challenge the record for lowest non-tropical surface air pressure reading in the US...

The forecast calls for 960mb or 28.35 inches Hg near Intl Falls, MN tomorrow night.

Record is 957.5mb or 28.28 inches Hg in January 1978 in Cleveland, Ohio.

Going to be very windy tomorrow and Wednesday... with the strongest winds taking place in southern to central MN. Sustained winds will be between 30-40 mph gusting up to 60+mph. Winter Storm Watches are posted near Grand Forks, ND for the winds plus SNOW!

For central Iowa, winds look to be just a touch less, but this certainly looks like it's going to be one of the most talked about storms to impact the US ever.
