The Texas win won't mean much

If we go out on Saturday and get beat by Kansas. We HAVE to handle KU. More then likely there will be a great crowd at The Jack, and how embarrassing would be to get beat by Kansas right after we beat Texas(Insert picture of ISU guy getting kicked in the nuts here). Yes, the Texas win will help out in recruiting and that it was our first time beating them, but for this season alone we need to handle KU by at least 2 TDs. I would take a win no matter what, but if we want to continue to get our name out there we need to breeze by KU this week. Now go out and kick their *** Clones!

I do agree. I still cant believe we beat Texas, but if we lose against KU i have a feeling alot of people will forget about the Texas win.

brilliant observation of the obvious.....just like calling players on the team a bust in another thread.

    not needed.

Re: The Texas win won't mean much

I'll be busting out the razor blades if we lose to KU at home.

I'm not too worried about it. This staff always has the team playing well in games where we're better or even with the other team. Barring a turnover fest from Arnaud (which I think he's above now) I can't see KU staying within 17 points.

Re: The Texas win won't mean much

Depends on what point of view you look at it from.

On the one hand, the Texas upset was huge in helping ISU perhaps reach a bowl game for the second time in two years. From that point of view, it would be a 'wasted' victory if the Cylones couldn't win against KU or CU (their 'easier' games left, correct?).

On the other, it's a big win for a program that was getting throttled by every ranked team it ran into (Iowa, Utah, Oklahoma). Like Nebraska last year (and Nebraska this year?!), it will be a big program booster.

Re: The Texas win won't mean much

I think that the Texas win will still be considered monumental for our program - even if we were to lose. Don't get me wrong, I'll be extremely upset if we do (hide the ropes and razor blades) - but I'm going into this game with a renewed sense of confidence - confident we can win and win convincingly.

Also, I am hoping that Texas wins out! I want our victory over them to be considered an even more solid win than it is now.

Utah Utes, Illinois Illini. The University of Pennsylvania thought about following this pattern by calling themselves the Pennsylvania Pencils. However, they were afraid their students would start chanting "We're No. 2"

That's another thing how good Texas ends up being means something, too. I think finally beating UT was huge, especially on the road, but I'd like to beat a high-profile team that ends up being as good (or better) as it was perceived to beat at the time of the upset.

That 2002 win over Nebraska was awesome, but both teams ended up 7-7 that season.

the clones have proven they can lose to anyone.

...and beat anyone, in a given week. Coming after a big win, the kansas game could be easily lost.

I'm hoping the clones play hard and fast...

    then kansas will be doomed.
