Iowa State up to 43rd in the Sagarin Rankings

With the conference season half over, we're currently sitting at 43rd in Sagarin's rankings. (College Football Ratings Page)

Here is how the Big 12 Stacks up:
    2 Missouri
    4 Oklahoma
    9 Nebraska
    22 Oklahoma State
    29 Baylor
    32 Texas A&M
    33 Kansas State
    34 Texas
    43 Iowa State
    48 Texas Tech
    51 Colorado
    132 Kansas

    Others of note:
    14 Utah
    17 Iowa
    53 Northern Illinois
    104 Northern Iowa

Not sure why we're still below Texas, since I see that as a legit win, not a fluke upset. I think this shows we have a legit shot at making a bowl. But we need to realize that pending the results of the next two weeks, the Colorado game looks like it'll be 50/50, with us having a slight edge that is canceled out by it being in Boulder.

I think there is about a 50/50 chance that Hawkins is gone by the time ISU come to Boulder. CU is 3-4 (0-3) and they get OU and KU next. OU will destroy CU and KU is a toss up. At best CU is 4-5 (1-4) when ISU comes to town. I gotta think a change might be made by that time.

Maybe an ISU win in Boulder gets Hawkins fired too.

CU is also down QB tyler hansen, he was hospitalized with a ruptured spleen last night, he'll be out for the season. That means Cody Hawkins is back in at QB. That might complicate things as far as firing him before the season is over.

Between that and the injuries to KU's top 2 QBs, hate to see the injuries happen, but you have to think our chances in both games are up.

One big thing to note, the ELO_Chess ratings in red are the ones that are used within the BCS poll. Iowa State is ranked 28th, while Texas is 29th!!

The ELO_Chess (ranking used for the BCS Computer)

    1 Missouri
    5 Oklahoma
    14 Nebraska
    20 Oklahoma State
    24 Kansas State
    27 Baylor
    28 Iowa State
    29 Texas
    38 Texas Tech
    40 Texas A&M
    47 Colorado
    110 Kansas

    Others of note:
    13 Utah
    16 Iowa
    58 Northern Illinois
    86 Northern Iowa
