    Knott and Klein

These 2 guys are currently in first and second place in the Big 12 for tackles.

    1. A.J. Klein (ISU) - 86
    2. Jake Knott (ISU) - 79
    3. David Lavonte (OU) - 78

Pretty impressive for 2 sophomores. Sims has 62 tackles too.

    Re: Knott and Klein

I love the way Klein plays. Wish we could have redshirted these two, but they are already tough SOBs.
Too bad Klein's ex-high school teammate could not have come with him. Probably would be seeing time right now as a true freshman on the Dline.

Kudos to the three of them. Its not bad when you have LBs making tackles, but never like to see the safety too high in tackles. That usually means the other teams are getting big yards.

Sims also had four pass breakups along with 8 tackles in the game. He is one tough guy.

    Re: Knott and Klein

The scary thing is that they'll be making more in the future when they figure out angles if the D-line doesn't improve and take some of those tackles away. They're gonna be scary good in a year or two when they learn not to run themselves out of plays.

    Re: Knott and Klein

Where can I get up to date national and/or Big 12 stats?

I am curious where Kirby is in punting stats after another monster weekend. If he's not top ten in the nation he's pretty close. I'd have to think he's one of the top 2 or 3 freshman punters at the very least.

    Re: Knott and Klein

Good and Bad. Also shows our defense is on the field Waaaaaaaay to much.
Would like to see those tackles down by about 30-40% and see the DL making more plays, and just the defense on the field less plays in general.
Not discounting these guys' effort, I really look forward to their play over the next 2.5 years

Exaggeration is a BILLION times worse than understating.

    Re: Knott and Klein

If we develop a DLine that demands doubles, these guys will look even better. OLines can get to the second level on us right now.

    Here you go:

    Kirby stats:

    Re: Knott and Klein

Recent article in DMR stated that (this was prior to the Texas game) Kirby was the second rated punter in the Big 12 (behind Henery of Neb), and that he was the number 1 rated freshman punter in the nation............

How many times this year has Knott made a huge

stop or a turnover in red zone? That trip up tackle of Gilbert saved a td at the beginning of the game and set the tone for the game.
