    Next year's schedule

Looks just as bad as this year's.

Most all of the toss-up games are on the road and the 'better' teams (for the most part) all come to JTS.

We could improve next year and still have the same record, possibly worse.

Enough to make a guy wish we had ended up in the Big East with the rest of the North rejects, isn't it?

    Re: Next year's schedule

Im interested, if we had baylor's schedule, we would be 6-1 right now!! That would be awesome! Kind of puts our schedule in perspective. (You could even swap TCU for Iowa)

Please don't compare us to Baylor. They are much better than us right now. They basically have a QB that can win any particular game by himself, ala Seneca.

Even without Robert Griffen, they are still probably a notch higher than us, IMO.

    Re: Next year's schedule

Yeah... don't expect our schedule to ever get any easier... it won't.

Somehow we are going to either have to man up and get a TON better... or we might as well have joined the MWC or MAC.

Uh their last 3 games were KU, Tech and CU. One of which they lost.

At the time, I was freaked out about what the future would hold for us if we left the B12, but now I'm not so sure it wouldn't be better. The Big East might have been the perfect fit, as it's still an AQ conference, but night and day easier competition (football obviously).

We are 5-68-2 all time vs. OU and 16-83-2 vs. Nebraska. We win less than 10% of the time against OU and I'm not sure if we've every beaten UT. Maybe we really don't belong in the B12.

Baylor will get destroyed by UT and OU just like we are. They also lost to TT on a neutral field, we beat TT.

The schedule is a huge difference.

They werent dumb enough to play 2 top 10 teams in their nonconference.

Yeah, I couldn't understand why so many on this board were clamoring to remain a part of this conference. With the new schedule that we will have to play year in and year out, we are teetering on the brink of becoming the program that Baylor was when the Big 12 first formed.

We are going to have to dump Iowa so we can try to secure a 3-0 non-conference slate, and battle K-State, KU and Baylor hard each year just to try to get to bowl eligibility. With Iowa in the non-conference, we go 2-1 in most years and then HAVE to beat all three of KU, K-State and Baylor and then try to find somewhere else to get an upset.

Our future possibilities for bowl games are bleak.

    Re: Next year's schedule

Baylor and Iowa State would be one of the most even matchups in the Big XII this season, right there with Mizzou @ A&M.

Agreed. I was always hoping in the back of my head that Texas would have bolted to the Pac 16.
