    Coach Question

Im an Auburn fan, i come in peace. I was wondering what yalls fan base thought about Gene Chizik, when he was hired, while he was there, and after he left. I heard ISU fans didn't like the way he left. i guess im just trying to get some details of everything from the ISU fanbase.

    Re: Coach Question

He was awesome when he was hired.

First year beat Iowa - good. But didn't do much else besides lose.

By the time he left, it was starting to get interesting - probably due to the crappy assistant coaches he hired while he was here.

When he left, everyone hated him - many still do.

    Re: Coach Question

Hire - Mostly excited to get an up-and-coming coach from a big team.

During - Hired fishing buddies for staff and couldn't coach worth a ****.

After - Left in a less than honorable way. Glad you guy have him since he wasn't a fit here.

    Re: Coach Question

Loved the hire, hated the arrogance he left with, but really can't blame him. He had his buddies for assistants and left the cupboard pretty bare here. We are much happier that we have a coach that wants to be here, Chizzlenuts never wanted to be at ISU in my opinion.

Excited when he was hired...disappointed when he was here...satisfied with his recruiting...****** when he left (because it came out of left field) but not sure why anybody would WANT to steal him away with the 5 wins he got in 2 years. Everybody had hopes that he would accomplish SOMETHING before he left...

Most will root against Auburn as long as he is there because of what a pompous, hypocritical ******* he showed himself to be on the way out. Nothing personal...

Im just glad I have Homan as my bodyguard, Eustachy joked. If I ever make it real big and get to drive a limo everyday, hell be driving it. I thought he came off the bench like somebody was stealing his cow or something.

    Re: Coach Question

Let me put it this way: chizzlenip is lucky he hired good coordinators at Auburn. Gus is doing a great job. He hired his friends at ISU and that got him 5 wins in 2 years.

He's a loser and I'm happy he is gone. It may not show now but his time will come at Auburn.

    You asked.

    Re: Coach Question

Nothing good came from Chiz at ISU. Some people like to claim that he got some good recruits, which is true, but its no better than Mac did. Chiz was a wasted 2 years for ISU and put us deeper in the hole.

I'm not claiming he is a terrible coach. I'm just saying his time at ISU hurt us.

    Re: Coach Question

As someone living in Arkansas and following Gus Malzahn's career closer than most, be thankful Chiz hired him. When the announcers today on CBS said Auburn has had some issues with poor tackling, get used to it, and when the Gus bus leaves it may be ugly again.

Gene Chizik just might be the worst person on the planet.
