    Why I love Ron Artest..

Ron Artest rankings: Kobe Bryant No. 1, Kevin Durant 2, LeBron James? - ESPN Los Angeles

He was asked who the top players in the league are... Kobe #1 (obviously), and he thinks Durant is #2...which led to the gem of a quote.

"When asked where James ranks on his list, Artest excluded the back-to-back MVP from consideration.
"I only count to two," Artest said. "I've been out of school for 10 years, so I only count to two.""

I don't disagree with his rankings.

How does he know he's been out of school for 10 years?

I really like Durant and his game but there is no way he is better than Lebron at this point. It's not even close either.

He also said one time that the best offensive player he ever guarded was Brandon Roy. (He guarded Kobe, and Jordan, along with other hall of famers)

He's better simply because I don't have to hear about him all the time and he goes about his bidness quietly.

That I agree with! I don't like Lebron at all. Haven't for the last 3 seasons.

If you think that you should maybe watch some Thunder games or the Olympic trials or whatever it was called this summer. I agree with you that James is above him at this point but its a lot closer than some would think.

Re: Why I love Ron Artest..

The best quote is at the end when he's talking about losing weight to keep up with Durant because he thought he was going to have 40 scored on him in the playoffs last year. A reporter informed him that he actually held Durant under his season long FG%. Artest's response: "Wow. Good job Ron."

I've watched plenty of his games. Love watching him and the Thunder. Hate James. But James does it all. He rebounds, passes, scores, defends (at times). Durant scores. That's it really. He gets some boards but he doesn't pass at all

This, and Durant will pass him up before too long but for now Lebron is better. I see Durant being the next stud that "cant win the big one" Kobe went through it, Lebron in the middle of it and KD will be next, I just hope he stays in OKC and doesn't let that pressure get to him the way Lebron did.. The anti-Lebron crowd is justified in everything they say about him personally, he's turned into an egomaniac (to put it nicely) but as far as on the court he carried a mediocre supporting cast the finals. There have only been a handful of guys in the history of the NBA capable of that, and none of them play now, theres no debating that.

You could have said this about Lebron 4 years ago, let's hope KD doesn't catch the "3rd person syndrome"

Boards maybe I will give you, I would say he passes fine though. Also a big thing you are not mentioning is leadership ability. The dude is a flat out stud and gets the best out of people. Remember how they were tied 2-2 with the eventual champs and how Durant carried Team USA on his back this summer. Lebron wishes he could do that but fled to where he can be under Wade's wing. Thats how great players are born not by filling a meaningless stat sheet (which durant can also do). If it were all about stats Tracy McGrady (or fill in the blank) could have been one of the best ever.
