    Request for Geek Help

Need a new home computer. Would not say I'm a power user but I will be editing some home videos on it. Other than that just normal average Joe usage.

I've not been in the market for a pc for a while, my current home pc is ancient, so I am wondering if anyone can give me some general advice on what the current standards are. How much processing power do I need? RAM? Etc.

    Thanks in advance.

Anything with over 8 gigs of ram as Windows itself needs 4 gigs to run everything smoothly.

Get an Apple. I suggest searching their refurbished page on their site.

Refurbished Mac - Apple Store (U.S.)

I wish I could afford one, but I'm stuck in the $400-600 range most likely.

    Genuine Windows® 7 Professional 64-Bit
    Intel® Core™ i5
    8gb of ram
    1tb or larger HD
    Nvidia GTX 460

Could be a little of overkill on the video card.

    Re: Request for Geek Help

I build a quad core, 4gb desktop that flies for your price range. I highly recommend that.
