    Web design help???

I'm looking to create a couple "real" website with a semi professional look. Ive used weebly in the past which is a drag and paste template site that anyone can use, but I don't have any experience building any other way. Weebly is fine for my gaming site, but its limited in what can be done.

Ive read a lot of good things about wordpress. I've read its fairly easy to use. Does that mean easy for me, or for someone with experience building sites? And whats the process for getting a site hosted? I'm at square one with what I know, which is nothing. Any advice or suggestions would be great.

I'll be purchasing the 2 domains i want here in the next day or 2, and looking to get the ball rolling.

WP is real easy. If you use a host like Bluehost or Dreamhost, they usually have simple ******* where it installs WP for you. After that it's just customization, which can be done with almost no HTML/CSS knowledge.

I'll second the wordpress, without knowing exact functionality you need.

I'm a big believer in Adobe CS Web Designer. That being said, you had better know your stuff if you're going to use it, and I mean have at least a working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and possibly Java.

I use DW, but yeah, I think I'd be extremely angry with it if I didn't know how to alter the HTML/CSS outside of it. It formats some stuff really oddly.

If you want actual software and don't mind paying for it Adobe GoLive is what I use and you might be able to find an older version of it cheap somewhere even. You may have to train yourself a little on it but it allows you to add some more advanced looking stuff and minimal HTML coding is involved if any at all depending on what you are trying to do.

That sounds good on the word press front! The 2 sites im looking to build will not have a hundred pages like my tecmo site, so it sounds like I can do it!

Whats hosting cost? I see that theres free hosting out there but I don't want a bunch of crap adds on my site. Also whats a specialized email such as myname @ mywebsite cost? Trying to shake out all the costs before hand. Regardless, i'll acquire the domains from godaddy in the meantime.

    Re: Web design help???

I personally have used Wix.com to build my website for my photography company. If you are looking for a builder that you need to know zero flash, html, css, etc. this is it! It is actually fairly easy to use and all their features are flash based so you can really make it look nice. You can make it look very professional and not like something that you made at home. I bought my domain through GoDaddy and then built the site on Wix and if you buy a certain package (very inexpensive) then they host your domain and let you use your domain address. Very easy to set all that up to with their step-by-step process. You should definitely check it out.

Here is my website that I created with Wix:

    www.creativeconceptsiowa.com

When you purchase your domain through GoDaddy, it comes with 2 personalized email addresses. For example, my domain is creativeconceptsiowa.com and me email address is name@creativeconceptsiowa.com. Very easy to set up too.

Not to mention if you're going to buy it for personal use you had better be prepared to sacrifice an arm, leg, or firstborn child to pay for it...
