    A-Rob practiced without pads tonight

Alexander Robinson did practice tonight but it was without pads. Coach Rhoads said that he'll practice tomorrow too but did not give a status for Saturday.

I think at this point, they just need to follow the advice from your blog. Let him sit, rest and be healthy for our last 4 games when we're really going to need him.

We're not likely to win this game so you might as well save him for games we have a better shot at. Also, it's not like last year where you don't have anyone else that can run the football effectively. The backups have shown throughout the year that they are very capable and aren't prone to fumbles like a lot of young players. I really see no benefit to Robinson playing Saturday.

That said, he is a Senior and I'm sure he wants to play as many games as he can so I really can't fault either him or coach Rhoads if he does play.

This isn't very smart. I mean, the rest of the team is wearing pads. ARob's chances of getting hurt increase dramatically. Do any other teams make their star players hit and tackle w/out pads? Wouldn't it be more wise to simply put him in a dark room?

You think Paul Rhoads wants his team to sense that he is giving up?

I wouldn't see it as giving up at all. Our chances/odds of winning the OU/UT games are slim. Do I think that they are better with A-Rob? Of course, but he does have 2 incredibly talented runners with Rabbit and Woody to back him up. I would rather have A-Rob back for the games when we want to be playing at our full potential so we have an even better chance of winning. (KU, MU, CU, NU)

Him sitting A-Rob is not giving up, it's saving the best potential for games we have the better shot at winning. It's just strategic.

From what I've seen, a healthy S. Johnson and Woody are just as effective (if not more) than a dinged up Arob. Until Arob is healthy, there is no reason to put him in. In previous years we've had to play our starter even when they're hurt, but we don't have to do that this year because we actually have depth. Use it.

I dont think we will need him at all this season. he has all his yards on a few big runs. Plus he does not run as hard as he used to. Maybe its because he is afraid to get injured or he thinks he wont get benched but he is not as good as he was last season.

Thanks Hawk fan for the input. IMO sitting ARob just to save him for the "important " games clearly says we have no chance at these games.

Any news on the other injured running back-AA? Has anyone heard why we keep running the zone read, when teams know AA/JT are too injured to keep it?

All of our running backs (except maybe Woody) have left more yards out there than I can remember, by missing cutback holes/lanes.
