Jones looked pretty good against Poland Saturday night. It would be nice to see more of that.

Jones has surprised me with his defense. He's really good at running at guys 1-on-1 and taking the ball away.

A lot of silly mistakes in the first 15

The US has had some bad giveaways. That last one from Shea was awful.

The year before he was injured I believe he was graded as a top 5 midfielder in the Bundesliga.

Quite the stat they just put up:

A forward has not scored at the last two World Cups (2006, 2010)

I agree that we badly need more young talent, and I think we have all be excited for Jermaine Jones for some time. However, by putting JJ in the same sentence as the young guy from FC Dallas (Shea) you imply that JJ is young. He is 28, and by the next World Cup would be 32. I like him a lot, and have been impressed with his play for Shalke, but I would rather see some younger guys in games like this, because if we are using JJ, Donovan, & Dempsey in the midfield in the next WC we could be in trouble.

    Re: USMNT vs. Columbia friendly

Jones has some fantastic touch on those lobs to the forwards.

Pretty ugly match so far. It would be nice to see the US steal a goal here in the last 10 minutes.
