Sounds like they may have worked the guys a little too hard in practice this week?

I'm referring to the portion of the audio where Rhoads said that the guys looked a little more fatigued after Thursday's practice than usual, and that worried him a little. Just putting a thought out there.

I understood you. Work too hard and too long in practice can cause fatigue to the point of injury and sickness. Its important.

It's probably less about being overworked in practice than it is having to play a short rotation every snap during the games.

Your starters and heavy contributors are going to get worn down quick in those situations.

Unfortunately, the coaches still have to work them even if they are gassed so they can be prepared for the next week.

Yeah, that's probably a bigger factor here.

I don't know that I agree with the second part though. At some point rest and recovery will result in a greater performance than more practice. May not be enough to win, but player development would probably be better if they're not continuously exhausted during the games.

As a side note, I realize I'm probably grasping at straws here, but I'm really looking for any reason why the performance this past Saturday will not resemble our performance from here on out.

It sounds like CPR and the team are still a little shell shocked from the Utah game, as you would expect. The OU game is poorly placed, but I would rather play OU this week and get pounded, than play Kansas and have an embarrassing loss to them.

"You can't coach speed, you have to recruit it.."

That might seem like an obvious statement, but I think it speaks volumes about Coach Rhoads' grasp of fundamentals and his vision of future recruiting...

Sounds like a coach that can work the same magic that Coach Whitt has done with 2-3 star recruits.

I hope you guys give him the 6-8 years he needs...

He will get his time and deserves so.

He wants to be here and has an understanding on what it takes to win here.

It is the best team we will face all season and that includes Oklahoma. Keep in mind Oklahoma's defense is not all that great. Yes, they are Oklahoma but they have given up plenty of yards and points this season

So you are saying our offense will have a breakout game?

    Not making any promises but...

Squeaking by Cincy by 2... Air Force by 3 and Utah State by 7...

Have to like those odds better than against a team that regularly puts in their 2nd & 3rd string the 3rd or 4th quarter...
