Remember when Bo Pelini was going to implode and Chizik was the worst coach ever.

Look at them now. It's amazing what knowledgeable people will say to make themselves feel better. Our team, on the other hand, quit before halftime -- quit!!

FWIW -- I never said Chizik or Pelini were horrible coaches, but comparing our situation to two great recruiters having great success at two traditional powerhouses is a little ridiculous.

I would argue that Paul Rhoads is a better leader than both Pelini and Chizik.

You must be exhausted from being right all of the time. Probably should go lay down.

Our team did quit before the half. Anyone that thinks differently didn't watch the game. Even Ben Bruns said it.

Remember when Chiz lost to Toledo, UNI, Kent State and UNLV? He's gonna have to go on a John Wooden type run to convince me that he's a good coach.

Amen. Im sure he will be very successful at Auburn. I really believe that. But he also has a ton of funds, a pretty good pick of staff this time around, and fairly easy recruiting. Plus he wants to be there. Seems to all swing in his favor.

Chizik is a good coach. Lets face it he didnt want to be at Iowa State. He was looking for the next opportunity to leave and it just so happened to be Auburn. You can surround yourself with good talent but if a team isn't unified as one they will become nothing (i.e. Notre Dame and Charlie Weis).

Gene Chizik taught me something: Don't hire a CEO to do an Architect's job.

Chizik sucks, I don't care how much talent he has around him...

I can't go down that logic path. First, if he didn't want to be here he shouldn't have taken the job. Second, plenty of coaches use jobs as stepping stones, but most of them actually win at those stepping stone schools. The man had a losing record vs. the MAC!

I actually remember thinking how great it would be if he used ISU as a stepping stone.....
But yeah, I was thinking he would take us somewhere good first. Who knew?!
