    Women picked 5th

ISU women were picked fifth in the preseason coaches poll. Remember last year we were picked 7th and finished 2nd. Its will be interesting to see how the injury at Texas impacts things. Team to watch out for....Kansas.

5th is respectable seeing we will have a new point guard this year.

    Re: Women picked 5th

Well they were picked 7th last year and ended up tied for 2nd

I think Baylor and Texas A&M are a lock for the top 2 spots but 3rd is still wide open. Should be another great year for these ladies!

I agree. I think a lot of people are forgetting how much Aus contributed to the team. I don't think we can expect that any one player is going to be able to replace all of that. We need several players to step up to replace all of what she did.

If the sophomores improve this year as much as they did in-season last year we will be just fine. Going to be interesting to see what Prins can do since she was never at full health last year with the early stress fracture and than the virus.

to many peoples' point, Nebraska was undefeated last year, and picked 7th this year. hmmm....not too much respect for Nebby's sustainability by big 12 coaches.

    Re: Women picked 5th

I think 5th is a fair assessment for the ladies. I agree with the coaches that BU and aTm are the top two teams in the league. I believe 3-5 is wide open. OU has to get a new post player worked into their rotation and Whitney Hand will take a few games to get back in the groove. I don't quite understand Texas being 4th and wonder if the voting was done before they announced Reed would be out for the season. GG's teams have consistently underachieved in the B12. Kansas is dangerous considering they actually played better ball after Danielle McCray went down last year. Their freshman got a ton of playing time, and they will have Angel Goodrich back at the point.

Honestly, I see a bigger divide in the league this year, than in years past. The last six - KSU, TTU, OSU, CU, MU, and NU will struggle.
KSU lost Ashley Sweat and has no one to replace her and Patterson's recruiting seems to be down
TTU has struggled, but may be the best of the last six,
OSU lost Riley and Tegan Cunningham which accounted for about 90% of their scoring,
CU lost Alyssa Fressle and has a new coach, and new system,
MU - I like Robin, but the cupboard was bare with Stein, and I don't think there is much there,
NU lost the three starters who did the majority of their scoring (Griffin, Montgomery, and Turner) and the two starters they have coming back aren't scorers.

    Re: Women picked 5th

I was thinking something different with the title, but it still seams about right:
    1. Beer
    2. Fast cars
    3. Money
    4. College football
    5. Women. Yup, that's about right.

Dean Wormer was wrong. Fat, drunk and stupid was a great way to go through college (all five years of it).
