    What happens if....

It's only halfway through the season but what if:

    Alabama
    Ohio State
    Oregon
    Nebraska/OU
    Boise State
    TCU

All end the season undefeated. Still a long ways to go but I think all 6 of those teams will be favored in every remaining game this year.

Who do you think deserves to be in the National Title game? And how cool would it be to see 2 BCS games that could be National Championship matchups (and to see the BCS in chaos)?

Also if this indeed does happen, the Big 12 Championship game is basically an unfair play-in game since only Alabama would be the other team to play a championship game.

    Re: What happens if....

this topic is discussed every year. but still, if it were to someday happen, SEC #1 vs big 12 #1 or Ohio State would play for the national title.

I'm a huge supporter of any scenario that makes the BCS look as ridiculous as it really is.

If nebby and OU are undefeated when it comes big XII championship time, whoever wins that game will get enough of a bump to jump into the NC game.

Not if Ohio State is undefeated. Nebraska schedule is going to kill them, OU's isn't much better.

If this scenario happens, it's Alabama v. tOSU in the BCS title game. Note that I didn't call it the national championship. The BCS is a joke, but the "Mythical National Champion" was an even bigger one. At least there is an actual game to decide who's number one.

    Re: What happens if....

If Oregon keeps destroying people and Ohio State struggles like they did last week, I could see Oregon leaping OSU.

Also, maybe putting Boise State in the BCS title game after the week 1 win was premature. I don't see all of those teams losing so BSU is on the outside looking in IMO.

Alabama would get one spot because to be the best you have to beat the best and they're the defending champions.

As for #2 it would be a toss up.

Texas almost killed the conference in the offseason by whoring themselves out to the highest bidder, and now they're killing the conference by sucking. If they don't get themselves squared away soon, they will be the reason that the Big 12 champ doesn't get the bump it needs to get to the BCS championship game.

Well, we all know that The Ohio St. isn't going to go undefeated because they have to play Iowa.

I still think its rediculous that Boise already got passed up again in the polls though.

Nothing to see here mods. Keep moving.

I think OU could but not Nebraska, the schedule Nebraska plays this year will keep them below OSU in the computer polls and I don't think they would jump OSU in the other polls either.

Why? We will never know, but give them a SEC, Big 12 or Big Ten schedule and I would put the odds at 95% they wouldn't run the table and wouldn't be in this conversation anyway.

Boise St has a good team and when they have 4 weeks to get ready for the big boys (BCS game) or all summer (against VT) and a week off before Oregon St they can compete, I would have liked to see what would have happened if they played Oregon St right after VT, I don't think they would have beaten Oregon St as they struggled the way it was with the week off before they played them.

    Re: What happens if....

If anyone thinks that would be the death knell of the BCS, they're fooling themselves. Sure, there will be an uproar, but it won't change a thing.

Right after Doomsday was averted, Matt and Miller had a very interesting interview w/the Nebby chancellor, who said straight up that the BCS won't go anywhere because it is far more profitable for those involved than the a playoff system would be. He said, they've studied playoffs ad nauseum, and the vast majority of university presidents and ADs amongst the 6 BCS conferences prefer the BCS.
