They are all southern and they say some funny things

Ben Durbin has snuck up on many schools recruiting boards over the past few months. He currently holds one official offer from the Wyoming Cowboys, but there a number of other division one programs taking a hard look at this under the radar recruit.

Den Durbin, a 6-foot-2, 220-pound linebacker from Gilbert High in Iowa currently holds one official scholarship offer from Wyoming.

“Wyoming is my only offer,” Durbin began. “It was like a dream come true when they offered. Ever since I was little I would jump on y bed and tackle pillows pretending I was playing college football, so it was like a dream come true when I found out I would have the opportunity to play at the highest level in college.”
Wyoming is not the only school that is keeping close tabs on Durbin. Kansas State, Iowa, Iowa State, Western Illinois, and Northern Iowa are also recruiting him.
“I just got done with UNI camp,” Durbin said. “It went really good. They had me and a few other guys stay after and compete against each other in the 40-yard dash and the pro-agility shuttle. I also went to camps at Iowa, Iowa State and Western Illinois.” “Kansas State is also continuing to recruit me. I have been texting back and forth with one of their coaches.”
Durbin broke down his interest for his two in-state schools, Iowa and Iowa State.
“Iowa State is really recruiting me hard,” Durbin informed. “They are showing me amore interest than Iowa right now, and they seemed really interested in me.”
“Iowa obviously has a great tradition going, they have some great facilities there.”
“The new Iowa State coaches are some fun guys,” Durbin continued on the Cyclones. “They are all southern and they some funny things. They call the TV the ‘Tube’ They say they are going home to watch some ‘Tube.’ They are some funny guys, and are a lot of fun to be around.”
Durbin is a solid linebacker. He is unheralded, but could make a late move and pick up some good offers. He sheds the blocks well and shows tremendous instincts.
“I think that most of the schools are looking at me to play a strong side linebacker position,” Durbin explained. “Wyoming did not specify. They just offered me as a linebacker.” As a junior, Durbin racked up an impressive 104 tackles, eight sacks, and 19 tackles for a loss to earn All-State, All-Mid Iowa, and All-District honors.

The new coaches seem hard but very cool to be around. Kinda like someone you feel like youve always known but never met. I like that and I think recruits feel it too.

Unless you wrote that article, you should probably cite where it came from.

Re: They are all southern and they some funny things

I had the opportunity to meet a few of the coaches at a Cyclone Gridiron Club golf outing a month ago. They are some pretty crazy guys. I got to meet Chizik, Bolt, Erik Link, Travis Pearson, and Barney Farrar. Barney seemed to be the craziest of them all. He met our group of golfers standing on the back of a golf cart where the bags are supposed to be. He said hello to us and then I couldn't understand the rest of what he said. It kind of reminded me of the cajun guy that's in the Waterboy and Joe Dirt. They were all very cool guys, very personable.
