DSM Area - Where to go for Printing, Police Accessories

For a halloween costume I'm working on, I need to create a credit card sized ID: Where would you go in the Des Moines area to have that printed on a thicker material/plastic, like an ID is printed on?

I'm also looking for one of these:
Neck Chain ID and Badge Holder (Foldover Design) | bostonleather.com

Anyone know of any stores in the area that would carry something like that?

There is a Police officer/uniform supply store over by the airport. Sorry I am not sure of the name. Google uniform stores in DSM and it should come up.

Also Galls.com is a good source. I've also used OMB but there shipping can be slow and they are out of stock more often than Galls.

Police Gear - Police Equipment - Police Uniforms - Public Safety Equipment: Galls
OMB's Express Police Supply - Distributor of 5.11 Tactical Equipment

Thanks guys, I'll have to give carpenter uniform a call.. I'm guessing that must be the same place you were talking about, sy4cy, since it's in that area.

I'll have to start calling around printing shops to see which ones will do a one-time job for the ID; looking at their websites it seems like most of the places around here are mainly focused towards bulk jobs

Re: DSM Area - Where to go for Printing, Police Accessories

Isn't anyone else a little worried about this poster?

I mean, I understand dressing up like a police officer for Halloween, but why the need in having a ID printed up?

    This sounds creepy to me.

Who said anything about dressing up as a police officer? I just said I was looking for an accessory usually used by police officers

The actual costume is a TV character (who just happens to wear an ID holder like that; crazy right?). The ID will have the character's information in it

On some items you must be employed with a LEA or postal service. On the LE side, there are just a few items. 99% of postal service items will not be sold to the public. If you have a warrant out for your arrest I would not go there as you will see A LOT of LEO's in there.

Just wanted to give you a fair warning before heading to the store.

If you are good with photoshop make the ID. Google "ID template's" and put it into photoshop. Get yourself some plastic and cut it down to the size you need. Print off the ID and stick it onto the plastic with laminate - buy a sheet of stick on laminate. (I think Staples or even UPS store will do it for you if you want it to look professional)
