He was in an episode of Community last week. Didn't hardly recognize him. Wasn't really a funny role so can't speak to that.

Re: Drew Carey loses 80 Lbs

I read an article on this a few weeks back. Hope he can keep it off. Good for him.

I lost about a 1/3 of what he did, but only started last spring. Did it a very similar to the way he did it.

Exercise is key in my opinion. Eating smart makes a big differece too.

Re: Drew Carey loses 80 Lbs

Drew Carey right now is my hero. The weight loss process, when done the right way, sucks. It's a lot of hard work, a lot of denying yourself, and more often than not the scale doesn't reward you for your hard work. That's where I'm at right now - In 2.5 months I've lost about 10 lbs Nothing to blow smoke at, but when you need to lose a minimum of 100 lbs, the scale is never the source of encouragement that you need it to be. However, the scale never tells the whole side of the story - the reason why I'm not dropping lbs "The Biggest Loser"-style is because I'm gaining muscle mass at about the same rate as I'm losing fat mass. The real source of encouragement is the way my clothes feel - extremely loose.

I really appreciate it when people like Carey do it the right way instead of through surgeries, because it makes me feel like I can do it as well.

Maria Sharapova: Don't you beat up other guys for a living? I don't know how to answer this.

Have you tried Interval Training by chance? Tough stuff, but only requires 45 minutes ever other day. I lifted weights on my off days. It really was an efficient way for me to lose when I did it that way. Never thought the pounds would melt off me the way they did between that and eating a little different.

I do a 45-minute (3 mile - yeah, I'm slow) run over lunch during the work week, and then I do Power 90 (P90X's tamer brother) when I get home from work. I'm serious about the muscle mass gain negating the fat mass loss in terms of pounds lost - I look significantly different than I did two and a half months ago, and I have what my wife calls the "cottage cheese belly", which the dimples in my belly from fat lost is extremely noticeable in low light. My biggest challenge is to just "keep on keeping on" and to be a little bit more committed to the Power 90 than I have been this last month. The fat pounds will eventually come off. What I mean by "keep on keeping on" is in the past I've allowed various things, including illnesses, injuries, and work trips, to derail my progress. I've made it 2.5 months so far, which is very close to a record in terms of a workout regimen for me. I just have to stay committed.
