So you never thought you would miss Steve Deace

Another swing and a miss today on KXNO. Host today could only talk about the odds for Iowa to go undefeated the rest of the way Vs. ISU getting to 6 wins and not betting on ISU. He also didn't appear to know that the Big 12 released the new schedule last week. Sure Deace let his politics and religion show, but at least he stood up for ISU and knew his football. Apologies to Cyballs, but even his group seemed pretty Hawk heavy. I guess I might have to let my wife set the alarm to 102.5 to wake up to, I sure hope not.

I thought Travis Justice did a pretty good job this AM, IMO.

I enjoyed Deace and Miller. It's been a trainwreck of Hawkeye fans who think they can talk in front of a radio ever since then.

I miss Deace a lot. But I've always liked Deace. Not having their show really sucks. Hopefully that family time it worth it to those guys.

Re: So you never thought you would miss Steve Deace

I agree, this mornings show was bad. Especially the statement one guy made about 6 on 6 girls basketball developing better womens BB college players. Serioulsy???

The two guys today talked over the top of each other constantly and it was just a bad show during the time that I was listening

“It’s beyond pride. It’s a restored trust. There’s a confidence again, a passion that teeters on swagger. More than anything, (Iowa State head coach Paul Rhoads) has restored the Iowa State “it” factor, the steadfast belief that it is great to be a Cyclone...the man’s enthusiasm is genuine to the core...”

Hawk fans seemed to like him on HN, that's enough for me to day no thanks.

Who is Travis Justice? Also, since I switched to Mike & Mike on 1700 I've gotten to really like it and KXNO would have to get someone really good to get me to listen to KXNO again.

Re: So you never thought you would miss Steve Deace

I do not like Deace as a business man - but he and Jon were good radio. At least, were by far the best sports show in DSM now - and I'd think best DSM has ever had.

Fact is: no one is going to be as good as Miller and Deace. NONE of the shows have been good of the people who actually want it.

It's a "be careful what you wish for" situation (not unlike wanting Tiller to play over AA). Grass not always greener.

Also, when Clear Channel is only willing to pay $X, they're only going to get "X" talent.

Re: So you never thought you would miss Steve Deace

I listened to the show since it started, have now shut it off. There is no Cyclone appeal on the show at all. I would rather listen to Matt and Miller at least know what the hell a Cyclone is.

I definitely miss the M&D show.
I was a much more informed college football fan by listening to their show every day.

Re: So you never thought you would miss Steve Deace

Honestly, I'm greatly preferring Matt and Miller to the morning guys. Matt may have an anti-ISU vendetta, but he at least knows a little more about the Cyclones, and Ken is almost always pretty fair to ISU, and doesn't give a strong Hawk lean. Almost all of these guys (except cybsball20) have been clear Iowa homers, who don't know **** about ISU.

I heard the guys this morning talking about JP has to go out and fight to make sure ISU doesn't play @ Texas and @ OU in the same season. NEWSFLASH ******! The schedule is out, and quite favorable to ISU.

Agreed, this guy was a hack. They've all been terrible.

While on live TV, Ford used a vulgar term to describe a private part of the female anatomy, adding that he was “happily married” and “got more than enough to eat at home.”
