    Crowd....

Awesome crowd last night until TT took us out of it at the end of the 2nd quarter. We did recover nicely though.

Student section... Top notch... Just wish the upper deck would of filled up. Seems just as many students left at halftime for beer and didn't come back as the general population. Which is extremely sad for a game like that.

Loved the atmosphere... Good job Cyclones.

    Re: Crowd....

The crowd was awesome. We wilted in the 2nd and early 3rd as is typical of ISU but came back with a vengeance. I hope this is a sign that our fans are starting to understand that conference games ARE IMPORTANT. If so, it only took 15 years.

The team needs the support but with slow food lines, people wanting another drink, and just the general attitude and tradition of not coming back right away.. Things probably won't change.

I actually thought this was the best crowd we have had this season as far as energy. I hope it keeps up for Utah...

I went up to the restrooms after the band's show... ISU lost 10 bucks from me as i couldve gone for a drink and a hot dog, but the lines were stretched back to the entrances of the stadium, and i knew i was gonna miss half of the 3rd quarter if i got in that line, knowing how much i missed last week when there were only a few people in front of me.

Definitely at least need some beverage-only carts to take care of that demand, and also am wondering why we dont have people in the stands selling drinks anymore. I wouldve bought at least one drink during that game.

    Re: Crowd....

I was concerned as we were walking toward the stadium about 45 minutes before kickoff as about 6 of the tailgating tents along the main area near Hilton were completely empty and unused. The lots right in front of Hilton that are normally packed full were barren. But I was glad to see that the stadium ended up being pretty full, and most fans came back to their seats after halftime. Good crowd.

I saw a couple of beverage only carts on the west side, they had bottled water and bottled soda. However, no way they're getting $4 from me for a 20 oz soda or water.

Usually I wait until after the band also and get stuck in a huge line... This week I went during the band and there wasn't even a wait. I walked right up and got one of those Cyclone Energy drinks. Very wierd....

Ohhhh and those Cyclone Energy drinks are very strong and leave me very jittery.. I didn't get to bed until 2am because of taking one.

    Re: Crowd....

Besides beverage only carts... They need some food vendors set up outside of the stadium. Maybe the gyro guy, hot dog/brat guy, turkey legs. Kinda like Kinnick has. It doesn't bother me most of the time, but the Thursday night game and the rare times you can't tailgate, it would be nice to get something BEFORE entering the stadium. Heck have all university vendors outside so we don't lose out on vendor profits if that is a problem.

    Re: Crowd....

A few more games like this one and people will start realizing that they may, in fact, miss something if they don't make more of an effort to be in their seats.

I don't understand why they don't have some specialty carts set up out by the scoreboard. There is lots of space out there. If they moved more of the "variety" concessions to that type of set up and then used the regular concession stands for more of the sports concession basics I think that would speed things up.

    Re: Crowd....

Now my question.... Is it just me, or does it seem like our crowd waits for the team to do something in order for us to cheer, instead of cheering them on to get them pumped up and fired up???

We seem to be getting better but I have always thought this of our fans.

Good point that would be a great area to have vendors... You could fit a lot out there and ease up some walking room on the concourse.

Hey East side people... Is the bavarian nut guy and cy fry guy still over there. Haven't looked this year.

    Re: Crowd....

I don't mean to open the "don't leave at halftime" debate, but can someone explain the reason why the re-entry policy only allows access at gates which are the furthest away from the majority of the tailgating???
I've been going out at half (and returning to my seat PRIOR to the 2nd half kick) through the SOUTH gate for the last 3 years and last night was the first time they have enforced this and I had to lookup the actual policy.
It just seems odd to me that if you wanted people back in the stadium you wouldn't put an obstacle in front of them by going to such an isolated gate. OR if you don't want people to leave at half, don't let them leave and change the policy.
