    This is unfortunate news. The Health division was lagging since when I was at PFG in 2007/08. Even 3 years ago there was chatter of trimming it.

    With 1% profit, they have to raise rates when their bills go up. You can lambast the CEO salaries, but in the scheme of overall operational costs, it is small potatoes to pay for the fat cat salaries. The real bottom line problem is it costs too much to have an operation.

    People needing fewer hospitalizations would help a lot. Wait, we are adding people who do need hospitalization more than average. We should expect rates to continue to rise right up to 2018 or so before this country cannot pay its bills.
