If you don't mind, MustangCy, I'd like to second your point. I'd been (Ben? <g>) thinking that the OLine, because it's large and relatively immobile, different qualities than what CPR wants from an OLine, that it is the team's Achilles heel.

According to Ben, not so. I no longer think that of the OLine . . . because Ben says it ain't so. I'm a football neophyte in comparison to Ben, so what he says is gold, afaic. Absolutely terrific to have Ben's insight about the health/ills of the program's innards.

+1,000,000. It is great to have a former players perspective. Ben has more knowledge about the game than most on this board. He also isn't afraid to tell it like it is. it is great to have him contributing

Re: Ben Bruns answers YOUR questions

I'm glad something was mentioned about fans leaving. I just don't get it either. There apparently is no pleasing anybody.

You leave early when we lose (that I can understand), but you leave early when we win, BIG, as in shutout, which hasn't happened since 2004. With 5 minutes left, half the stadium was walking out - what gives. Oh and lets show up late to the game as well.

I guess it balances out - the team walks out to an empty stadium, and leaves to one as well.

I think the podcast is better! How great would it be to have Bruns and others as guests on the podcasts.
I hope some companies step up and sponsor it so we can have one everyday. It fills the void of quality local sports talk radio, plus it is awesome for out-of-Staters.

Re: Ben Bruns answers YOUR questions

I was able to catch part of the ISU vs. UNI game on tv the other night. It was a bit disturbing IMO to hear Ben being very critical of Tiller's performance in a pro-Arnaud way. I guess I was a bit surprised to hear him be so vocal against Tiller when half of his criticism of Tiller was for things that Arnaud has struggled with for a year and a half under Herman.

People need to keep in mind that Tiller has seen about 1/20th of the playing time in games that Arnaud has seen. Comparing Tiller to Arnaud didn't seem fair IMO.

Perhaps the former player understands the differences better than the regular fan.

Imagine that, the head of the AA fan club is the first to respond to any possible insinuation that AA isn't the greatest thing around!

Hey, I like Ben Bruns' commentary too, but I kinda think with his job on the Cyclone Radio Network, Ben is not willing to add to any "QB controversy" and will support CPR. Even if he thinks Tiller should be starting, I doubt he would come out and say it...

With those offensive grades, our offense should be scoring more than one and a half TDs a game.

Possibly. I just found it interesting that his criticism of Tiller was based on a comparison to Arnaud at times. Is Tiller expected to come out and perform like a Heisman candidate when he has barely played? Comparing him to a kid that has been starting (and struggling) under the same system who gets way more playing time is a bit unfair IMO.

Is it ok if I have an opinion on this subject? For the love of God.... WOW!!!

Still waiting to see the first touch pass in four years of ISU football. If the qb could do that and remove the radar eyes, the qb would improve instantly.

But that is what you have to do when trying to decide who the starting QB of the team should be. Otherwise there is not way to refute the fairy dust that the Tiller for QB committee is putting out. The comparisons are the only way to discuss the two.
