    Local Fox affiliate outsources news

KPTM in Omaha outsourced their local news to a station in Davenport. They send reports to the station where they are editted and read by their people and sent back to the station to air.

Fox 28 in CR outsources their news to CBS 2 in CR, but at least they're in the same town.

The good old days of local news are long gone...sad! TV stations/newspapers being gobbled up by distant corporations that own the station with an eye only on the bottom line is to blame! The CR Gazette used to have great local news and local sports...now you can hardly find anything in the paper that isn't in USA Today (not using that as an example of a great paper either)!

The logistics of this seems strange. Fox 17 here outsources theirs to WHO Ch 13 but its still the same town at least...

That explains why I didn't recognize the set or any of the newscasters when flipping channels last week. I thought it was odd that they'd replace the whole staff and get an entirely new studio.

KDSM used to outsource it to KGAN before they started using WHO.

I hear CW is outsourcing Cyclonefanatic content to WRNL.

I agree, there's such a big difference between someone just reading you the news and hearing it from people who are actually involved with it.
Plus we lose the opportunity for such memorable catch phrases as "Boom goes the Dynamite"

Actually, the two stations are housed in the same building. CBS 2 runs Fox 28 and has done so for a few years now.

I'm hoping to outsource my posts to someone, still choosing from vendors.

I don't do signatures. Blondes, brunettes, and red heads are a different story.
