Re: UNI @ ISU replay (on Mediacom)

one thing i realize, watching it a second time: Our offense didn't play well, BUT with 2 pick sixes, thats 2 or 3 possessions that we don't get. AND we played our 3rd string QB and really shut it down in the 4th quarter, while UNI was still going hard.

The stats should still have been more equal, but thats a pretty legitimate reason to have lackluster offensive yards. Usually teams that score TWICE on non-offensive TDs don't rack up the yards.

Re: UNI @ ISU replay (on Mediacom)

Our offense was moving the ball nicely on that possession until Tiller got buried for a 15 yard sack (ARob runs right past a blitzer), and KO follows it up with a hold. But no, penalties and line play aren't a problem at all.

Jeff Woody needs 15 carries a game.

Re: UNI @ ISU replay (on Mediacom)

After re-watching this game tonight, and watching NIU (still recorded on my DVR), the offense can and has moved the ball. It is the damn penalties and poor decisions by QB that kill us. I noticed two critical differences between Tiller and Arnaurd. Arnaud clearly has a better handle on the offense. If the primary receiver against UNI wasn't open, Tiller didn't know where to go with the ball, so he quickly scrambled up field. Pressure was certainly to blame there too by UNI's front. On the other hand, there were a couple plays where Tiller clearly let one fly out of bounds or decided not to shuffle pass to avoid a turnover or sack. I'm not sure Arnaud has that same discipline. I guess a wash maybe?

I was impressed with Shontrelle Johnson after watching the replay. He juked the crap out of a few defenders during his carries.

While on live TV, Ford used a vulgar term to describe a private part of the female anatomy, adding that he was “happily married” and “got more than enough to eat at home.”
