    Cooking Challenge

I have been asked to make food for a week using reciepes that I've never used before. With the new ingrediants I'm buying, where would the best place be to get either small amounts of each ingrdiant or best price? Are the Asian markets cheaper than a grocery store?

A few examples would be low sodium soy sauce, ginger, rice noodles, Israeli couscous?

I don't know about Israeli couscous, but the others are all pretty cheap and available at Hy-Vee (or most other grocery stores). You may as well just buy them there because they're really not going to cost you much.

I know this sounds really bad, but I haven't really cooked Asian much. Are the sauces meant to be kept at room tempurature?

Assuming you mean the store-bought ones (hoisin, oyster, chili paste, etc.)... A lot of them don't say to refrigerate them, but I have a hard time just letting things like that sit in the cabinet. I refrigerate most everything just to be safe, especially since I've got a couple little kids.

It doesn't seem to hurt them.
