Any other Bulls fans not pleased with Joakim??

I just don't see this kid turning into something special. I hope they trade him away. Just my opinion; any others??

I agree. I don't doubt that he's a good player or that he can't be successful... but this isn't what the Bulls need!

    I Hope I'm Wrong

But I agree with the other, I don't see Noah being much more than ever being the 8-9th guy off the bench.

Noah has great height- but I just don't think he is an explosive jumper. That is OK in college, but there are just so many more 6'8" guys on every NBA team.

I haven't seen Hawes play so I can't say I'd prefer to see him in a Bulls uniform. I do think a team can never have enough scorers so I would have preferred the Bulls take Thorton or Nick Young.

I hope the Bulls trade him to the T-wolves to get KG

If they could package him with a couple other guys or something to get KG, that would be AMAZING. I'm thinking they'd have to make Minnesota a helluva deal, though.....

Re: Any other Bulls fans not pleased with Joakim??

He reminds me a lot of Vroman, except he's a little better on defense. Kind of a strange pick for a team with Ben Wallace under a big contract, a stud in Tyrus Thomas, and still no inside scoring.

I was thinking the same thing, kinda a wallace/vroman mix... I can see Noah being a Rodman like player, great D and rebounds but never a big scorer...

I don't know if a lot of people realize this but the Bulls drafted Vroman and then got rid of him for Luol Deng!!! Maybe they can get another player like that. (KG preferably)

Re: Any other Bulls fans not pleased with Joakim??

I think everybody probably knows this, but getting KG is very unlikely but not completely dreaming. Mainly because of cap reasons and the fact that he'd only have 1 guarenteed year with them. The thing Pax needs to do if he decides that he everytually wants KG is keep letting McHale de-value KG's stock. (i.e. keep letting suitors bring up trade ideas and get shot down. Eventually, McHale will bite on a smaller fish.....hopefully with the Bulls casting the line.)

Ok, about Joakim. I have spent years disliking his demeanor and foot-in-the-mouth comment syndrome he suffers from, but this last week reading and pondering, that if Pax can still pickup a post scorer, this was most likely the guy the should have picked. Pau Gasol is still possible, and Joakim schooled Hawes in there head-to-head workout. Noah's shot is ugly, but he'll be a fighter and fits the Chicago way of doing things. He's like Nocioni, in that he's a guy you absolutely dispise playing against, but someone you don't mind being one your side. I also think it's kinda funny everyone's mentioning they already have guys like this (Wallace and Thomas) but who better than to show you the ropes than Wallace. That's called depth, and they need it in their frontcourt. Think of it like they got the #1 pick last year if it makes you feel better.

Re: Any other Bulls fans not pleased with Joakim??

I'm thinking he'll be a great guy as far as emotion. If him and Tyrus can control themselves and use their emotions to get the crowd fired up and into games, they could make the United Center a helluva place to watch games again. Personally, I can't wait to see Noah's already potent defense become a much stronger part of his game with the help of Big Ben Wallace, but I also can't wait to see a great shooter like Scott Skiles helping him to develop a nice 15-foot jumper to go along with that defense. I think he'll be all right after all.

Re: Any other Bulls fans not pleased with Joakim??

The guy would have been the #1 draft pick last year...to get him a year later with more college experience and another national title, I think is a steal for Chicago.

I didn't like the guy as a college player but he has the tools to be a solid NBA player.

With his quickness and agility under the basket he will be able to draw a lot of fouls on other big guys and get some rebounding. The comparison to Rodman seems to be a good one. Walace won't be there forever and I like the idea of having Deng, Noah, and Thompson as a three forward set.

Agreed. He will get eaten alive in the NBA.

I read in one "draft analysis" that the Noah pick was a piece of a possible trade for Darko M of the Pistons. I no longer follow the NBA but thought I'd pass the info along.

I'm not a big NBA fan, but that was my thought process too. Kind of like the Cardinals got with Matt Lienert a couple years ago.
