    No kidding. Retired at 48.

    I remember one game when he came in at quarterback against the Chiefs. Buck Buchanan picked him up and just body slammed him into the turf. That was back when the Chiefs/Raiders rivalry was at it's peak. Those games always turned into a brawl.

    Few here will even know who he was. Their idea of an old Raiders quarterback from a long time ago is Rich Gannon.

    george blanda-dead at 83.

    hall of famer qb george blanda passes away at age 83 today....blanda had a long distinguished career in the nfl.

    Some of the highlights I saw of him while playing for the Oilers are just sick. What an important star for the AFL.

    IIRC He was the backup kicker and 3rd string QB played both in the same game. Both qbs down and the kicker. It was a weird situation. What an athlete.

    He was ****** when they forced him out. He played forever.
