Best game I have seen from an ISU LB in a long time. He was everywhere. Very impressive

Also would have been nice to keep DJ Beshears a commit

Well deserved. Knott and Klein are two of the few people on this team that have not disappointed this year.

I know we keep saying in the future Knott and Klein are going to be some of the best in the Big 12, but are they already?

Klein is number 2 in tackles with 41. Knott is #5 with 35. Knott is also tied at #5 in passses defended. Tied at #3 in Forced fumbles. And they both are also in the top 5 in interceptions.

I think we know why the coaches have been saying all along that we don't need to worry about the LBs.

Please remind me, what's the story on Matt T's injury? He's expected back, maybe mid-season or so? He's not lost for the year, is he?

Love the K boys! Only sophs, wow. . . . And with the frosh weightlifting with Coach Yancey this fall, by spring perhaps we'll start seeing a LBer corps with developing depth.

Supposed to be like Benton's injury-6 wks. or more likely.

Thanks, 2020cy. Matt T was injured at Iowa, correct? The second game, so maybe he'll be back by the 9th game, at the earliest. Hmmm.

Matt T redshirted last year; to get this one back, he'd have to get a medical from the NCAA, iirc. And that appeal for a sixth year would have to be made post-season, again iirc.

So, if Matt T. is ready to go late this season, wonder if he'll play or stay on the sidelines and hope to get a medical year. If the latter, eligibility-wise, Klein, Knott and Matt T. would all be juniors next fall.

Or, is my understanding of the medical sixth year messed up?

This is just the first in several accolades in the future for our 2 stud LB's who may end up being some of the best we've had.

Yeah, who would have guessed that CPR & Wally have a pretty good handle on what it takes to be a Big12 linebacker... I mean they've only been doing this their entire adult lives, been D-coordinators and positional coaches at winning BCS programs, and have sent over a dozen former players to the NFL...

And I can't believe they're continuing to give out offers and accept commitments from other LB recruits without additional BCS offers!!!

While I definitely agree that these guys are playing incredibly well, the ranking so high in tackles in the big 12 probably has more to do with our defense not being able to get off the field than them being better than other top notch Big 12 linebackers.

Give them a year to make learn the position, and hopefully their tackle totals will go down because they are stoppping the running back after 3 yards or less instead of getting a tackle after 6 or 7 yards...leading to more 3 and outs of course. They are good, but I don't know if I would put them as 1st team big 12 linebackers yet.

Than again, I haven't followed football outside of ISU too much this year. Who are the elite Big 12 linebackers right now?
