Latest NBA Mock Draft (actual sports talk!)

FOX Sports on MSN - NBA - Schrager: Mock draft 4.0

I'm no fan of the NBA but I always like to see where college players go in the draft.

Alando Tucker at 41 shocked me.

Conley Jr. at #3 shocked me as well.

    No Haluska.

It seems like there aren't nearly as many international players.

I love the new rule forcing high schoolers to play at least 1 year of college.

It's always a little surprising to see quality college players (in our minds) reduced to 2nd rounders. Look at Glen "Big Baby" Davis... might be have a lottery pick last year, but now looks to land in the 2nd round.

It seems like the pro scouts see something different than us...

Cotlar talked with the head of NBA scouting this morning and he said he thought Davis would be a big sleeper this year.

Tucker doesn't really surprise me. He doesn't have a great shot and he really made a lot of things happen just by being more athletic than the other guy in college. That's not going to work so well in the pros. I think he's got a great attitude though so I think he'll be a longtime pro, I just think he'll be a career backup.

Re: Latest NBA Mock Draft (actual sports talk!)

Because of the age rule in the NBA now, they were saying it will be the first year since 2000 that 2 american born, college players went 1-2 in the NBA draft.
As for the lesser amount of Euros, I think that has to do with the difficulty these days of getting them out of their contracts with their current clubs. Only so many guys are worth it. And for every Dirk and Tony Parker, there are hundreds of names i can't spell or say...
Conley is getting predicted high because potential. Definitely the best PG in the draft though, skills-wise, and Atlanta has been burned by passing on Chris Paul, Deron Williams, and many others over the last few years. I could see them going after Conley. But they're taking Horford. Conley will either go fourth or 6th, to Memphis or Milwaukee.
Glen Davis is a 'tweener. If he came out last year, his stock would've fallen into the bottom 1/3 of the draft then too. I agree with other mock's that have him going to Houston at the end of the 1st round.
