UCLA on top of Texas at the half

    13-3, at Texas.

If that holds up, it could make ISU's loss to KSU more understandable, since KSU beat UCLA. That would've been a moot idea if KSU had lost to UCF, but it looks like they lucked out and salvaged that one.

    Now it's 20-3, UCLA.

Wow. I wonder if that'll hold up.

Neither UT or OU are playing stellar right now. If ISU can somehow get its offense on track, there is opportunity to pull off a program-changing victory when ISU plays them.

Wish Iowa State had come together to play better against KSU given the current state of the conference, still a chance to make some hay given what we're seeing so far.

A lot of teams had a tough go of it today. Penn State having all they can handle with Temple right now, Texas getting beat, and Purdue lost at home to Kent State.

These are just more examples that if one team plays good and the other poor, almost any team can beat almost any other team on a given Sunday....

Yep, this thread has just been pwned.

Small correction, but Purdue lost to Toledo.

One thing I'm seeing with UCLA is that Texas is vulnerable against the run. I would like our chances a lot better if our offensive line can get going. If you look at the teams Texas has played, Rice, Texas Tech and Wyoming (rush rank #106, 113 and 120). This is the first run team they have faced.

That would be cool. ISU would have to improve, obviously, to make that happen, but it shows that expectations don't automatically convert to what actually comes to pass.

It's hard to tell until there's some interconnection among all the teams that takes at least a month to start taking shape.

Who knows, maybe Kansas State is just as much of a challenge as Texas or OU. We're assuming KSU was a must-win for at least a .500 season, but you never know.

It'd be helpful to play Texas or OU at home, of course.

Texas won't. They haven't impressed all year. Not saying we will beat them but I give us a much better shot than OK, Nebby or Utah. They are vulnerable to the run. If we can establish that like everyone else has, we have a shot.

It's all snark from here on out
