    Schedule reboot

heard rumblings that the new schedule isn't going to be kind to one or two teams. The schedule has to reboot, and i've heard that Iowa State might have to pull the duel roadies again (OU and Texas) next year.

    Re: Schedule reboot

Honestly... if we figure we're probably going to lose both of those either way, might as well have more winnable games at home. Playing them both on the road in the same season wouldnt be so bad, as long as we arent playing them back to back on the road. What are you hearing in regards to that?

    Re: Schedule reboot

I would like to see OU/UT rotated home/away, and a 5-4 conference slate in the years ISU plays Iowa and (OU/UT) on the road.

It would also be good if one of the South teams would have to come to Ames in November, preferably on a rotating basis. There's no reason to have divisional/regional setup anymore (loading the back end of the schedule with divisional games, other than rivalries) and the North-South balance is out of whack anyway. So I'd like to see ISU's conference schedule something like:

    KU
Seasonal rotation among former South teams*
    Missouri
    KSU
Such as, OU is first game after KU in Season A, then moves to the back, right before Mizzou game, in Season B.

That way, even if they slap Texas-Oklahoma back-to-back, those games will be split for one year out of five, at least.

Absolutely NO reason why southern based teams should not head to Ames in late November anymore.

The Big XII has the ability to completely redo everything from a creative perspective, but I'm sure we will get none of that.

new boss, same as the old boss... Texas..

I do think it is horrible what they have subjected us to schedule wise...

The south teams are big babies for not coming to Iowa in November.

This is such bs if we have to play OU and Texas back to back every year going forward. Seriously, there is no reason anyone should have to do that.

Agree completely with this. They will no longer have the "divisional game" excuse to fall back on to pamper the Texas teams with. They need to be up here in November and if this doesn't happen, we'll know they've been full of **** on the excuses we've heard for the past 10 years.

BTW, we need to drop the Iowa game.

I don't think people realize how hard it's going to be for us to go bowling every year. We lose one non conference game that should be a cupcake and replace it with a South team.

Definitely, and we're not the only one in that situation. Add Nebraska to Minnesota's schedule last year in place of a non-conference and there's a good chance neither team is in the Insight Bowl.

I don't do signatures. Blondes, brunettes, and red heads are a different story.

Agreed, and this is why we need to ditch the Iowa series. At this point, bowl games are more important than getting over on the in-state rival every few years.

    Re: Schedule reboot

I would think schools like OU & Texas would choose to play ISU on the road and play some of the more "difficult" games at home. Since we are considered a so called "easy win" amongst conference teams, why not play us on the road and get what are considered the more difficult games at home.

    Re: Schedule reboot

kind of off topic, but why don't we play 8 conference games instead of 9? The big 10 has done that for awhile now. 9 conference games is A LOT. The big east plays 7 with 5 non con games! And the big east sucks as it is!!
