I think it's because I try to think of what the woman was thinking in the moments leading up to her starting her swing. I'm sure she was picturing herself gliding, gracefully through the air, and then letting go and launching herself high above the water in a beautiful arc, then coming down in a perfect swan dive, causing the lake to make not so much as a ripple.
...and then pretty much the complete opposite of that happens.
"What a horrible night to have a curse."
"Please bury me with all my stuff, because you know it's mine..."
"Passersby were amazed by the unusually large amounts of blood."
