    sarcasm pirate missing?

As far as depth goes though, the combination of White, Woodbury, Olaseni, Basabe, and Uthoff is much better than Niang, Ejim, Edozie, Gibson. Not because of the top 2, but because of the next 2 or 3. -DeanVogs

Um no. Completely different bases. Redbox is great because it is a low cost unmanned store. It has a small collection but it is a quick pick as you are walking by. Netflix is very low cost and on demand with a large selection. If anyone rivals netflix it will be Apple TV and those like it.

I really don't think so b/c Netflix is evolving by having watch it now access on the computer or on your Wii. Also, just b/c of the ease of receiving it in your mailbox and it only taking 1-2 days to get is nice.

Re: Blockbuster files for Ch 11.

Everyone is poised to kill Bluray and soon. However I am concerned at how they plan to manage movies you own. When you download a movie for your collection, what happens when you machine dies? Does someone keep track of what you own and let you redownload it? What happens if you buy from various sources. What a pain.

As it currently sits with netflix, you basically own a large streaming collection for a monthly rate.

Me? I just go to my local library and rent new vids for $1. Or just check-out slightly 'older' movies for free.

I wouldnt say that Bluray is in danger 'soon'. Firstly, its always targeted a bit higher end market, offering video quality that you just can't get on netflix or any streaming service at this point. Also, as you said, a lot of people like the option of having a physical copy that one can replay whenever and wherever they want.

All it takes is a company to get agressive with it and market it well and it will be the next big thing. Bluray is too expensive still and not a ton are jumping on it, even more so with those hearing the streaming move. Dont get me wrong, I still want a player, but Im hesitant to build my collection. I like having a physical copy, but cant see the draw of the lazy american who can just stay on the couch and play a movie over getting up and picking one off the shelf.

Re: Blockbuster files for Ch 11.

I still don't understand why people buy DVD's or Blu-Rays? How many times are you going to watch the same movie? I have about 10 blu-rays and those are movies that I want to watch multiple times and they were on sale.

As a side note, I noticed that some of the RedBox's in Johnston now have a few blu-ray's available.
