    Tailgating Bus for Sale

I don't want to spam, but I figure this is a great place to post this. I've got an ISU tailgating bus for sale and what better place to post it then here. Take a look, e-mail @ isubus83@gmail.com if interested. We'll be out this season tailgating in the grass lots if you want a look in person. Thanks and go State!

For Sale: $4,500 or best offer

A renovated 1983 Bluebird School Bus. Bus is 40 foot long. It has been used for tailgating, and also for birthday parties. Possible uses also include Ragbrai, camping, and party busses for bachelor/bacherlotte parties. We’re sadly selling the bus for money.

    Shape:

Have owned for four years. Have replaced battery with a deep cycle marine battery. Recently worked on transmission, starter, and speedometer. Oil change and basic maintenance has kept the bus in great shape. Engine was rebuilt before our purchase and has 19,000 miles on it. Engine runs on unleaded and is an automatic transmission. This bus has a lot of life left!

    Renovations:

    Custom, Air-Sprayed paint job!
Looks professional and of a higher quality than rolled/brushed paint that everyone else has.

    New Flooring!
Ripped out everything down to the frame. Paint and roofing tar-paper water-proofed the floor, and installed a parquet wood floor. Very classy and durable! Carpet upfront provides nice transition. Stand out from the linoleum or rubber flooring on other buses!

    Diner Booth & Kitchenette Counter!
Large tiled table sits four and countertop provides workspace and storage. Great for tailgating and camping.

    Aisle Seating!
8 seats along the sides provide seating for 16 or more. Cleaner and more comfortable than couches, the seats provide seating while retaining a wide aisle to walk through. Storage bins are hidden under box frame. I-State logo is burned into wooden armrests.

    Paint & Trim!
White paint replaces the dungy school bus gray, and wood panel wainscoting hides the metal sides. This is a very warm, friendly bus!

    50 sq ft Open Space!
Back is left open for your renovation ideas or storage. Fits couches, bikes, mattresses, etc.

Nice looking bus! Hope it ends up in some good hands!
If I had the money, lived in Ames, and had a place to store it, I'd probably think about buying it.

Thanks for the compliments guys! We'll definitely miss her, but we've had a good four years. For those interested or know someone who may be, we're taking it tailgating the rest of the season. See it in person, or stop by and say hi. It was sure nice to have to stay warm and dry last Saturday!

Throw in the couch and we'll talk.

Actually, I am going to make a call to some buddies to see if they want to go in on this. No promises, however

No, leave the couch out and put in a brass pole.

They say country music speaks to the heart. Unfortunately, it has to go through your ears to get there.

    Re: Tailgating Bus for Sale

Some more info you might want to provide:

What is the sound system specs? I see it has a CD player/Aux input. What does your crew usually do for music?

    Re: Tailgating Bus for Sale

The couch isn't mine, otherwise I'd think about it! A brass pole or "aisle rope" could pretty easily be installed, no problem.

As far as our sound set-up, it's unfortunately pretty weak. We usually parked near people who blared their music, or we were too busy playing games to care. The three speakers are factory, and the fourth (near the driver) was removed - for safety reasons, I imagine.

I just remembered, however, that I do have a power inverter that we'd bought for the bus and never had time/$ to install. It's yours FREE with bus purchase. I'll pull up a link to the model once I get home and get the specs.

Also, I've been getting a few questions about driving/insurance. We run through Progressive and have it titled as a Recreational Vehicle. Progressive was by far the easiest insurance company to work with. IF you're using the bus to make money, e.g. a party bus rental, you'll need a CDL (Commercial Driver's License). If it's just for fun a regular license with some courage will do. Corner's wide folks!

    Re: Tailgating Bus for Sale

Here's a link to the Power Inverter we bought a year ago to begin our electrical system. We never had a chance to start it, but it's brand new and in the box. You get it for FREE.

Amazon.com: Xantrex Technologies 813-1050 XPower Plus 1,200-Watt Inverter: Patio, Lawn & Garden

If you don't know, a power inverter converts electricity from your vehicle battery into an outlet which you can plug devices (e.g. TV's, x-boxes, etc.) into you. Our idea was a power source that wasn't a noisy, dirty generator.

All that thing needs is a toilet and it'd be perfect! Hate waiting in line at port-o-potties. :)

Haha yeah, especially in November. I'm sure someone out there could figure it out.

We'll be at the main student grass lot, about half of the way down today if anyone wants to see it in person. Even if you're not thinking of buying, drop by and say hi!

Well, that may be a problem since someone stole the "Bus Gong" last weekend.

    BUT IN BIGGER NEWS!!!

Although we feel the price is fair, we've decided to drop the price from fair to SELL.

We're now asking only $3,500. We've met and talked to lots of great Cyclone fans the last few weeks, but we have a fairly realistic view of the decision of buying a bus. Again, a drop of a cool grand - make an offer! Let's get it into your hands for the last couple of games of the season!

    Go State!
