State of Iowa continues to produce favorable results

The secret is out. Stay in Iowa after you graduate...

And though Manhattan, Kansas, Bismarck, N.D., and Logan, Utah round out the top five cities on our list, Iowa was the clear standout in the ranking with five metros in the top 20 including Iowa City, which ranked No. 2 (Des Moines nabbed the top spot on out the list of bigger metros). Other leading Iowa metros include No. 13 Waterloo, No. 14 Sioux City, No. 15 Dubuque and No. 17 Ames. They share some similar characteristics like business costs at least 16% below the national average and crime rates that fare at least 16% lower. These metros are all home to top-ranked colleges that churn out a steady crop of highly educated labor. Employment in Dubuque is expected to increase 4.2% annually over the next three years, better than any other metro area (big or small) in the country.

I'm sorry but I don't care what research or articles say, you couldn't pay me to live in Waterloo or Sioux City. I wouldn't mind Dubuque though

whoever's running Dubuque knows that they're doing .. that town was a ******** 10 yrs ago and the recent changes by the river have been fantastic. Lots of construction downtown, so i assume there's an improvement plan in progress there as well

Waterloo is not that bad. stay away from the east side and be in the West side and Cedar falls area. Its real nice.

I've been to both Sioux City and Waterloo multiple times. I wasn't exactly a fan of either wouldn't want to live there. Just my opinion.

    Is that OK with you?

I lived in the Cedar Falls area for about 5 years and went to the east side of waterloo probably one time.

You live in West Des Moines. How often do you hang out on Forest Avenue? Would you want West Des Moines judged by the east side?

Probably has something to do with the proximity to Missouri...
