I saw where my High School, Camanche, beat Columbus Junction 78-0 Friday night. Camanche probably didn't score 78 points total for all of last season. I'll have to see if they have any prospects when I go to the Oct. 8 game cause the team I was on is being honored as being one of the best in school history.
Wes Burnside RB from Union-LaPorte City is a back that people should keep their eyes on. Runs between 4.5 and 4.6 is like 5'9 and 180 or 190 pounds and runs with great vision and power. My nephew plays on the team and they won a shoot out against Central Dewitt last Friday 47-46 in which Wes set a school record for rushing yards with 294 and had 4 or 5 tds.
I think the overall talent differences get smaller as you move up the levels of play. In high school, it really isn't surprising to see really good players on really good teams put up ridiculous numbers against mediocre players from mediocre teams. And then you have the really bad teams... Needless to say, if you're on a good team, you have the ability to rack up a lot of stats.
Here in Minnesota, after 3 games, the #1 passer has 942yds, 3INTs and 13 TDs. The #1 rusher has 808yds and 10 TDs(though it is important to note he only had 91yds in his first game. He had 358 and 359 in his next two games).
