    Working from home opportunities

Do you guys know anything about these online jobs? Specifically the data entry jobs. I really don't know much about them at all and was thinking of trying something like this part time.

Let me know what you guys think.

    Re: Working from home opportunities

I worked from home for about a month. Had to blow out my knee in order to do it.

    I wouldn't recommend it...

As far as those online things, I'm not too familiar with them - yet from what I understand, more often than not they're either a scam or less than great.

    Re: Working from home opportunities

I have worked from home for 7 years now. I love it and wouldn't have it any other way.

I can't speak to the on-line stuff though.

    Re: Working from home opportunities

The OP is referring to some spam emails that get sent to the student body every now and again. They are work-from-home jobs in "data entry" or taking online surveys. They do seem pretty shady, but I've always been curious about them.

I also remember a game with Kansas when Cy (wore a huge suit then) went out to center field, squatted, and "pooped" a couple of chickens that had been dyed blue then chased them around.

I take surveys from testspin.com for a little extra cash. You don't make much, but I can breeze through them pretty fast for a few bucks each. They pay out in Amazon Gift Certificates. You certainly cannot make a living at this, the yearly limit is 600 bucks. They are a legit company, though.

I know two people that work from home for HP and love it. They can move anywhere in the USA and never change jobs.

I've lived in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, and now Colorado without changing jobs. The only requirement is that I'm close to a major airport for my travel.

I actually was just in the right place at the right time for this job. It isn't something that is done at my company very often. It is a large part of the reason I haven't left.

    Re: Working from home opportunities

It sounds to me like there are legitimate data entry jobs online, but how do you find them or distinquish them?

I know never do direct deposit, give out SS#, look for typing errors in the adds and things like that.

    Re: Working from home opportunities

I checked into them a while back just out of curiousity. My girlfriend makes a small amount of money by filling out surveys and sampling new products. Overall, I would say that you would want to carefully and thoroughly check out the company that you might be interested in working with. The internet is great that way. You should be able to find out all about them, check local better business bureaus, etc.

I think I found a credible company. Here is the website...
    Welcome to MySurvey!

and here is their information from the Better Business Bureau

    Re: Working from home opportunities

I've done the MySurvey polls. You only make about $10 every 4-6 months unless you fit the demographic better than I do. Think women have a better opportunity there than men.

    Re: Working from home opportunities

Many of the work from home sites look great at first. I had a couple of friends that did a few of them. Basically they took a survey and then the catch comes. After the survey you have to sign up for the trial offer of some product (be it AOL free for a month, or anything like that). In order to make any real money you have to sign up for hundreds of these offers. As soon as you forget to cancel a couple of them before the free time is up they will start to come out of your checking account and then you are up a creek fast.

I'm sure there are more reputable ways to work online, but that is the one that I have seen the most.

I do surveys on testpin.com and lightspeedpanel.com. I don't think you could pay the bills with these survey sites, but if you want a little extra spending money they're not bad to do in your spare time.

Are there any companies that pay you to watch TV?
