    KC dining-The aftermath

Jack Stack-Wanted to go to Oklahoma Joes but the ladies didn't want to eat in a gas station :(. This is about the 5th time I've ate at jack Stack. Everything was very good. Jon Miller recommended the creamy corn which was very good. Burnt ends we're also good.

TomFooleries-Good brunch with a lot of selection. Went to Kate's Kitchen last year and I would say it's a lot better but the selection of tomfooleries was very good.

Tengo Sed Canitna at P&L-When I walked in and saw the stripper poles I was impressed. Then I got the food and it wasn't very good. The chips were good and the beer was cold but the food was just average.

D'Bronx-Went to the one on Bell St. I knew as soon as we drove by it was going to be good. The place does a ton of business. The pizza was excellent and the sandwiches looked great. Happy we found this one.

    Re: KC dining-The aftermath

As far as bars. Keep in mind I'm in my late 30's and with our wives.

Flying Saucer Draught Emporium-Love it. We need one in DM so I can join the club.

PBR Big Sky-Not the sort of place I'd normally go but it was ok. Nice costumes worn by the staff. Fun to see some ISU people trying out the bull.

The irish place in P&L-I was so drunk I forgot the name but this place was a blast. Although buying Guinness in 32oz cups isn't probably a good idea....

We ate at Jack Stack. It was good. We also ate at Ted's Montana Grill in the P and L District, and it was the best burger I've ever had. Period.

we ate at the jack stack, very good. but we had long waits to get table and then the food. but the boulevard tank no. 7 was good.

Sometimes when I reflect back on all the beer I drink I feel ashamed. Then look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery and all of their hopes and dreams. If I didn't drink this beer, they might be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. Then I say to myself, "It is better that I drink this beer and let their dreams come true than selfish and worry about my liver."

    Re: KC dining-The aftermath

Friday night they were giving out free brisket at the PBR Big Sky bar, and it was phenomenal. Sadly, it was the only barbecue we ate. And yes, the staff had excellent outfits.

However, the deer loin I grilled saturday was phenomenal. Everyone thought it was some kind of leaner beef.

    You sir, did it right.

For those having a tough time selling the wife or gf on Okie Joes due to the gas station factor, there is a second location in Olathe that is just a normal restaurant. It has a more suburban feel due to the location, but the food is still awesome!

Went to 801 Chophouse and then the Flying Saucer Saturday night - both quite excellent.

Oklahoma Joe's was by far the best. Worth the hour long wait.

    Re: KC dining-The aftermath

I've ate at pretty much every spot in the P&L by now since I was down there 4 nights for the Big 12 BB tourney this year. Missed out on a slice of Pizza Bar pizza this time though.

Ate at Gordon Biersh (german bar on the corner) which I have ate once before too, had a good Ocktoberfest beer and the jagerschnitzel I had was OK but I think they make it better at the Hessen Haus actually. Ate at Johnny's Saturday night before heading up for a fun night at Howl at the Moon.

And yes the Flying Saucer is a gem down there. Makes El Bait shop look like nothing since they have twice the brews on tap than they do.

Hit Gates in Independence after the game. Got a sampler platter for five and threw it in the cooler for Sunday afternoon. Had the burnt ends sandwich for the way home. Messy but Awesome, Awesome, Awesome!

That still doesn't change the fact you would have to go to Olathe. There is no reason to ever go to Olathe.

I agree but to be fair the El Bait Shop still has plenty on tap (100) and is a different kind of bar. I would like to see the bait shop have a beer sampler like the Flying Saucer.
