Our "Great Fans" Should be ashamed of themselves

I'm extremely disappointed with our fans at yesterday's game. Not Only did KSU outsell us, by a lot, but our fans left early! I couldn't believe it. We were down 24-20, with 3 time outs and fans were filing out of the ISU side!

Come on guys! What the crap is that? That is absolutely ridiculous, pathetic and makes me ashamed to be an ISU fan.

If you left that game early, with the opportunities we had to win, you should be ashamed of yourself.

And don't tell me nobody left. From my spot in the endzone it was obvious that 20-25% of our fans were gone by the time KSU kicked the field goal to make it 27-20.

    Worthless. I'm ashamed.

35-7 at Iowa and not even showing up for the game had something to do with it.

Re: Our "Great Fans" Should be ashamed of themselves

Completely agree with the OP. I have not been impressed with our fanbase at all in the last several years. Yes, the football has been bad more than it's been good, but the attitude and participation of our fan base just flat out sucks. There's no other way to say it.

The only time most people get into it is on third downs. Even then, most people just stand, but don't yell or clap. It takes until midway of the 3rd quarter for most of our fans to get back from drinking in the parking lot at half time (I still can't believe we allow people to do this) and people pile out early, no matter what the circumstances of the game are.

I fully understand the reasons why not as many tickets are being bought, because I nearly couldn't afford season tix this year, but I sometimes wonder if our fans know they're watching football and not a tennis match. EVERY time we had the ball yesterday, the KSU fans were standing and yelling. When KSU had the ball, 80% of our fans were sitting down and not making a peep.

It's your right if you want to purchase a ticket and come to the game and just sit back and take it all in, but as fans, we're failing when it comes to creating a tough environment for opponents to play in.

We need a Tornado warning sound or something at our home games, when it's third down.

Or/and after a big play, maybe that annoying beep beep beep TV national test of the emergency broadcast system cut off in a 1/2 second with a tornado siren to freak people out.

The fans leaving during the game are of the same cut as those on this site who give up when challenged. Bunch of crybabies who are hard on the team but probably soft at work, soft on their kids and go too easy on themselves.

Im so sick of the AA bashing. When Tiller was in and working with a short field, did he punch it in for 7? No he didnt. When Meyer was here all we did was chant for Austen to play and now all we do is moan and complain to put Tiller in. Next year it will be complaining that Barnett or Capello is not in. It gets old. Fast.
