Obviously they have a beast at RB but the biggest difference between our offense and theirs was they actually seemed to have a gameplan. They set up some plays that they hadn't run all year with their basic stuff and we were just too physically outmatched to stop it. Synder always has plays up his sleeve that the opponents haven't seen on tape, something we never seem to do. He's a dinosaur but he still prepares his team as good as anyone in the country and he does it doing the same things he's done for 20 years. So why is that 2 teams both in the 2nd year of a new coaching staff can be light years apart not only offensive execution but gameplan as well? Is it all on AA? Herman? Oline?WR? Or is this offense really just the worst offense in the big 12?
His OL was more physical than ours in the beginning. I thought ours did a good job of asserting itself physically in the 3rd quarter and a decent job in the 4th.
His guys also didn't pick up stupid penalties to kill drives off. I think that played a role.
I didn't get to watch. My in-laws surprised us and I ended up framing my basement and putting up sheetrock. Surprise ******* surprise!
I did listen and was pretty frustrated listening as I know I had seen this dance before. I'm not going to go all in on AA because he is not the only reason we are struggling but at the end of the day, we go as he goes.
One of the biggest disappointments were penalties, especially in the red zone. We have looked like a poorly coached team the last two games (and for moments in the first one) and that is surprising to me as anything.
Luckily, we have a lot of season left and we have a chance to have a big day next week against a UNI team that we should handle.
