    Reality Check

Again, ISU is replacing most of the starting Defense and some reserves, due to graduation. That includes: Frere, Lyle, Raven, Jesse Smith, Garrin, James Smith and Banks. We lost out two best OL men in Stephens and Haughton. There are going to be challenges this year.

Keeping all that in mind, this team is still in the same place it was last year. Beat first non-conference foe, blown out by Iowa and close loss to KSU. They will have to try and go 3-1 in non-conference ala last season. A tall order with Utah on the slate. They will have to beat KU and CU, as well as upset another conference opponent; like last year. The Cyclones may have to upset two conference teams to make a bowl. It helps that our toughest games appear to be on the road and while others are at home.

I'll wait and see how this plays out. See you at JTS next week!

"I'm proud to lead this program and this team in whatever we do. Whether it's a community service project, or through practice or winning a bowl game, but you don't do that without the kids believing and being all in, and going out there and accomplishing all [of] the goals and expectations that we set." - Coach Paul Rhoads

The only real difference between this time last year and today, is the difficulty of the schedule. Thats it.

correct. (Although a bowl game is still possible) we really can't afford to lose the toss up games with so many tough teams on our schedule.

Exactly. The big difference in the schedule is utah and texas tech, instead of kent st and baylor, both of which were easy wins last year and likely losses this year. UT and OU just sub in for TAMU and OSU, who blew us out last year anyways. Really shouldve bought out of Utah, gotten a winnable team. Then would only need to beat KU, CU, and one other (MU?) to get a bowl.
