Actually, I liked "chaplain" better. Call it what it is and don't hide it behind language.

How abot the comment from Jack (*****)?

I try to never read those comments as the authors typically represent the most vile members of society. Only total wack jobs seriously believe that is a good public forum to debate issues. I vowed never to read them after I saw some guy post that the solution to the energy crisis is to grow hemp.

I prefer chaplain too. Life skills aide is something they could only come up with in academia or k-12 education.

"Life Skills Aide" reminds me of my mother-in-law who teaches handicapped kids to brush their teeth, how to buy stuff at the grocery store, etc.

I don't like to be reminded of my mother-in-law.

Re: Well after all that it's not a CHAPLAIN

"I have no objection to someone having voluntary Bible study with players on the night before a game. I do have problems with someone leading a team prayer before a game because that could be considered coercive."
So when I go to a wedding, there should be no prayer because that is considered coercive? Several high school graduations still have a prayer. If you don't want to take part in the prayer...DON'T. It's that simple.

I'm glad Chizik got his "Life Skills Aid", even though that sounds about as bad as the Iowa Corncobs. Add yet another PC term to the growing, growing list...look out administrative assistant (secretary), sanitation engineer (janitor), law enforcement officer (policeman/woman), Education Resource Center Staff (librarian), flight attendant (steward/ess)...you have a new friend.

There is a difference between team prayer at a regents institution and prayer as part of a private regligious ceremony like a wedding, isn't there?

Re: Well after all that it's not a CHAPLAIN

It's still a chaplain no matter what you call it. My brother's favorite line for dumb stuff like this "you can polish a turd all you want but at the end of the day it's still just a turd." So you can call this guy whatever but bottom line is it's still basically a chaplain.

Sure there is a different but these players are invited to play for Iowa State and select to play for Iowa State, same as a wedding.

I like to think about the brats and burgers as the "cake" and the Golden Light as the "champange". The Ushers are the "ushers" and the squawk fans are the "embarassing and annoying redneck cousin drunk on $2 vodka"

I told you twice now, I am not going to sue!

I don't know man. JP is on a fund-raising roll.

You could sue for a mint, turn-around and buy one of those luxury suites and be "donor of the year".

Of course that has all the ethics of that judge who sued for $52M because the drycleaners lost his pants.
